Description

If you are starting from scratch with little financial knowledge, this is a handy book to talk you through some basics and provides tips on what you can do to make wiser money decisions. The book is so well written that I think everyone who reads this book will benefit from it regardless of their level of education. This isn't a bad book but I just feel that some of it was pitched at people who really had no idea about the simplest of things.

Many readers looking to start investing long-term will find it basic and may need to do further reading. Further along in the book, the topic of spending comes up again, and Whateley explains how you can save money on your energy and other household bills.I was reaping social and valuable financial advice before I’d even finished the first chapter…her experience as a journalist on the money desk for The Times, The Sunday Times and the Guardian allows her to do something that I’d never experienced before: she explains money clearly’. This book is so good that I think everyone in the UK should own a copy and be encouraged to read it annually. I’m a bit pissed off about the last woman they gave me because, if she’d bothered to show any interest or genuinely tried to explain anything to me, it might have made a difference these last few years before I thought to try it again.

Claramente siempre va a tener algo de influencia el lugar de residencia del autor, pero en este caso me pareció que no llegaba a justificar la compra del libro, ni por las secciones que si podian llegar a aplicarse a mi situación viviendo en España. There was even a very interesting part of the book where the author explains some ideas on how to talk about money with your significant other and how it is rarely talked about that really opened my eyes. I'll be purchasing my own copy as a "go to" guide to sit on the bookshelf for my future financial decisions. This essential book will give you the confidence and clarity to take back control of your bank account, enabling you to thrive in all areas of your life. Unfortunately, the author doesn’t speak about this and instead emphasizes with the reader about how difficult saving is.While many in the FI community believe that this is suboptimal, Whateley is of the opposite conviction. Written in a digestible, light-hearted way with personal stories scattered throughout, I love this book and recommend to everyone, no matter how clued up you think you are with finance or how much you feel you are 'destined' to always be terrible with money.
