Accident At Work
A law student who was working in a bakery sustained an Accident At Work. He was in the process of taking cakes out of the oven and placing them in a tray to be put on the conveyor belt. The Student had worked in the bakery for a number of years and was experienced at his job. On the day of the accident the bakery was short staffed meaning that there was a back log of work. When lifting the cake tray was when the accident occurred and he suffered a back injury as a result.
The worker felt as if the accident had occurred because he was asked to worker quicker than normal due to them being short staffed, he also admitted that he was never shown correct manual handling techniques. He instructed a specialist personal injury solicitor to deal with the case on his behalf. They alleged that the employer had been negligent and had caused the accident at work at subsequent back injury. They admitted liability and the case was settled for £1500.
