I haven’t done this, but if you do want something lighter you can swap it out for the more compact TriFlex (sold separately) for a total weight of 67g and a max pot size of 800ml. This stove is called the ‘Windmaster’ for a reason and that’s because it copes very well in windy exposed conditions. The stove has a piezoelectric starter so it is a self contained unit and is easily started even when windy where matches or a lighter don’t work. This starter works a charm and one press is all you need to spark a flame. SOTO's Windmaster Stove has all the technology benefits of the Micro Regulator stove and is fitted with a unique burner head that is designed to eliminate performance problems caused by windy conditions.

When compared to other brands’ stoves, Soto has a really innovative ignitor design, its ignitor is hidden within the center tube of the stove to save space, therefore, I would recommend going with the model that features ignitor. Wind Protection Firstly, the main feature that is common to all canister stoves and that is light weight. At 89 grams for the stove unit itself and 100 grams including the small carry bag, this stove isn’t the lightest in the stove market but doesn’t weigh that much. To be fair when you compare this to other stove types, you do need to include other items such as a pot, gas canister and canister stabiliser which will increase the weight. Being able to buy this stove as a standalone unit allows hikers to mix and match to get the system they want and the opportunity to change the pot choice depending on needs. This technology was achieved by SOTO's engineers developing a 'valve-controlled preheating system'. SOTO's engineers also looked at the entire stove and how to make it more stable, durable and easy to use. The result was the SOTO Micro Regulator.

Soto Windmaster and Amicus are both highly regarded stove systems used for outdoor cooking. They have both been around for a while and each has its own unique set of benefits. Comparing the two can be difficult as they both have their advantages and disadvantages. The 4 pot supports are engineered for easy setup, providing a stable surface for your pot. Compatible with standard isobutane canisters such as Primus, Snow Peak, MSR, and Jetboil, it comes with a Triple O-ring Seal and Metal Seal. Like all canister-top designs, with the SOTO Windmaster your cooking pot does sit a fair way off the ground when it’s all set up. This does affect stability slightly, though a gas canister stand helps here. Still, it doesn’t feel worryingly precarious, thanks in large part to the toothed arms of the pot support.Clean Jets: Jets can become clogged with dirt or debris over time. Make sure that you clean them regularly to ensure optimal performance. Camping Lights & Lanterns Don’t let the light stop your adventure! We have a wide range of lighting equipment, from basic camping lanterns for cosy family campfires to focusable lights for cave or forest exploration. Read More Replace O-Rings: O-rings are rubber seals that are used to form a seal between the fuel canister and the stove. Over time, these can become damaged and need to be replaced, as they are essential for preventing gas leaks. So far, the WindMaster has worked well. I need to use it in colder and windier weather to come to a firm conclusion, but initially I’m impressed.

Place the burner head unit into warm water for several minutes. After the spilled food has softened, use a soft brush, such as a toothbrush, to gently clean the burner head. If a hard wire brush is used, the mesh located inside the burner head will be destroyed. Be sure to use asoft brushwhen cleaning the burner head.. Jetboil and the MSR offering are popular and they're a good option if all you want to do is boil water. I'd say if that is what you want, either would make a good choice. It is the best top mounted gas stove ever invented in the modern era. Their use of a concave flame head design has now been copied by MSR and others, but this is still the best, and they came up with this design at least 5 years before the competition.

Anthill Nothofagus cunninghamii When I put it on or take it off the cannister I always get a blast of fuel leaking out. This is especially bad with a new cannister. I have been using my Jetboil for more than 10 years and even when I unscrewed the cannister slowly I never experienced a leak like this.
