Subject: 21 Year old in fatal work accident claim
A skip hire firm and it’s owner have been ordered to pay £80,000 in fines and costs after a 21 year old worker was crushed to death.
The work accident happened when the 21 year old was using a vehicle called a skid steer loader that was used to move rubbish. It is believed that the loader was second hand and the firm had failed to ensure it’s safety features were working correctly when it was used at their warehouse.
Investigations later found that the vehicle was unsafe to use. The workers body was discovered the following morning after it was noted that the warehouse had not been closed.
