This starts off a little slow because the first few interviews are concerning what led up to the hurricane and the main events of the novel. I know many people will read that above quote and know instantly how repulsive it is and will steer clear of this book. The thing is, you would think that the complete breakdown of societal rules and civility would take longer than a couple of days, but that photo is of day 2. I’ve read a lot of books so far this year, and the majority of the time I enjoy every book I’ve read.

I firmly believe now this book would've been more effective had the author not exaggerated some things. I've seen several books since World War Z came out that have attempted to copy the style but no one has managed to get it right.

This novel is told in an interview style, similar to World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War and that format made it more disturbing.Told in a series of interviews, there were plenty of characters to go around and the narration really added depth to the interview style format.
