About this deal

In 1550, Nostradamus wrote his first almanac of astrological information and predictions of the coming year. Almanacs were very popular at the time, as they provided useful information for farmers and merchants and contained entertaining bits of local folklore and predictions for the coming year.

Quatrain 8/15 as mentioned above reads "The masculine woman will exert herself to the north. She will annoy nearly all of Europe and the rest of the world. Two failures will put her in such an imbalance. That both life and death will strengthen eastern Europe." Will cost of living emergencies, growing anger around environmental damage, and income inequality pave the way for serious civil unrest in 2023 and beyond? Given how things have been going, it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that things may get a whole lot worse. And, as with so many other things, Nostradamus seems to have seen this coming. Revised and Updated Edition of This Internationally Bestselling Collection of Nostradamus Most Startling Prophecies Beyond the quatrain in question, an English translation of Les Prophiétes shows no direct reference to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, or any other queen. Nostradamus’ predictions for last year included the rise of AI, the conquering power of cryptocurrency and a surge in cannibalism as a response to inflation. How’d he do? While bitcoin has gone bust, inflation remains at an all-time high and not for nothing, “Dahmer — Monster,” Netflix’s controversial ode to the famous flesh-eater, became the second-most watched show in the network’s history.Notably, though the date appears to have been predicted correctly, there's no evidence that any of the additional claims in Reading's analysis of the quatrain, as of yet, have come to pass. So this should be read with some caution. I am aware that Marco Reading was considered an expert on Nostradamus and if you want to believe his interpretations of these prophecies for the future that’s okay. However, there are 3 important facts that must be remembered when reading this and other books on Nostradamus. The pressure on him is so great, and his age so much against him, that Charles agrees to abdicate in favor of his elder son, Prince William."

It is not clear how Reading came to interpret the date being 2022, though it may be due to the passage being in "Verse XXII". However, there is no evidence that the verses numbers in the Prophecies match up with the respective years in the calendar. I always wondered what the fuss was about Nostradamus, and now I know. Or, rather, I know what the author thinks the fuss is about. I'm not sold. I think this is pretty much like any other "scripture" that is a) really old, b) really vague, c) translated from its original language, d) supposedly prophetic in that someone good at arguing could twist and turn it to mean just about anything they want it to mean. More recently, enthusiasts claim that Nostradamus predicted the rise of COVID-19 when he wrote, “Near the gates and within two cities/There will be two scourges the like of which was never seen. Famine within plague, people put out by steel/Crying to the great immortal God for relief.”Featuring updated author commentaries, this is an internationally bestselling selection of the famous seer's most relevant prophecies By 1554, Nostradamus’ visions had become an integral part of his works in the almanacs, and he decided to channel all his energies into a massive opus he initially titled Centuries. He planned to write 10 volumes, which would contain 100 predictions forecasting the next 2,000 years. In time, Nostradamus found himself somewhat of a local celebrity for his treatments and received financial support from many of the citizens of Provence. 1n 1531, he was invited to work with a leading scholar of the time, Jules-Cesar Scaliger in Agen, in southwestern France. On September 16, video creator Michael Summers shared a video on Facebook, which claimed that Nostradamus foresaw the death of the Queen.

Nostradamus was born Michel de Nostradame on December 14 or 21, 1503, in the south of France in Saint-Remy-de-Provence. He was one of nine children born to Reyniere de St-Remy and her husband Jaume de Nostradame, a well-to-do grain dealer and part-time notary of Jewish descent. Nostradamus had also published two books on medical science by this time. One was a translation of Galen, the Roman physician, and a second book, The Traite des Fardemens, was a medical cookbook for treating the plague and for the preparation of cosmetics, candies, jams — even a love potion. Prince Charles will be seventy-four years old in 2022, when he takes over the throne, but the resentments held against him by a certain proportion of the British population, following his divorce from Diana, Princess of Wales, still persist. Michel de Nostradame was born in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in 1503. Though Catholic, he later traded on his Jewish ancestry by saying his natural instinct for prophecy was “inherited from my forebears”. He made his early living as a travelling apothecary, much in demand for the treatment of plague victims. “His time was comparable to ours,” says historian Dan Jones. “He lived when there were also massive social divisions and catastrophes. It was also a time in which the new invention of the printing press made the transmission of ideas, and crazy mad bullshit, incredibly easy. It was the social media of its day.”

Mario Reading was born in Dorset, and brought up in England, Germany, and the South of France. He was educated at Gorse Cliff Preparatory School, followed by Rugby School, and then went on to study Comparative Literature under Malcolm Bradbury and Angus Wilson at the University of East Anglia, where he specialized in French and German Literature and translation before absconding, after two years, on a cargo boat to Africa. The greatest diviner and scryer who ever lived, Nostradamus was born in 1503 in Provence, France, and his prophecies have been continuously in print since his death on 2nd July 1566. Nostradamus claimed to base his published predictions on judicial astrology—the art of forecasting future events by calculation of the planets and stellar bodies in relationship to the earth. His sources include passages from classical historians like Plutarch as well as medieval chroniclers from whom he seems to have borrowed liberally.

Queen Elizabeth II is pictured near Salisbury, southern England, on October 15, 2020. A portrait of of Michel de Nostredame, popularly known as Nostradamus (1503-1566), is pictured inset. Following the Queen's death, claims have circulated online that Nostradamus predicted when she would pass away. Leemage/Corbis via Getty Images

Who is Nostradamus?

I found Marco Reading’s interpretation of many of the prophecies required and enormous stretch of the imagination. Some of the claims were very sketchy and some were plain ridiculous. There are errors: Britain ceding from the EU (2060) it happened in 2020 40 years earlier; XCXXXXXXXX
