Description

Typically, the eG RUM collector timestamps the beacons it receives based on the eG manager’s time zone. Since the eG agent too, by design, synchronizes its time with the eG manager, the agent does not make any changes to the timestamp of the beacons when it pulls them from the RUM collector and sends them to the eG manager. However, if a different time zone has been set in eG for a user registered with the eG Enterprise system, then, when that users logs into the eG monitoring console, the RUM metrics he/she views in the console will be timestamped according to that user’s time zone setting. Historical metrics viewed by this user in the eG Reporter console will also be aligned with that user’s time zone setting only. If you are capturing the user name using a CSS Selector, then do the following to determine whether/not the user name is returned along with the string: Small businesses rely on their technology, and Dell is committed to providing support if issues arise: Each of these steps have been elaborately discussed for an eG agent, in the eG Installation Guide. The same detailed procedures apply to the eG RUM Collector as well.

Make sure you replace the in the line of code above, with the name of the CSS Selector that points to the user name. In this case, the RUM collector will clean up all the data that has been collected but not sent to the eG agent yet, from the flat files. Sharpening: Sharpening applies a filter to the image with the intention of removing softness, especially with content that’s less than the monitor’s native resolution. In small amounts this can be quite effective, though at higher levels can lead to very unnatural images. Adjust to taste. A monitor’s refresh rate (referred to as “Hz” or “Hertz”) is the maximum frames per second (FPS) it is capable of displaying regardless of the amount of frames a game may output. A 60Hz monitor, for example, will only ever display 60 FPS, even if your graphics card is capable of more than that. A good monitor can elevate your gaming experience in a way few pieces of hardware can. Taking the time to make sure it’s properly configured pays dividends in the enjoyment you’re likely to get out of it. Now that you’ve made it through this guide, you’re ready to get out there and start fragging assured in the knowledge your monitor is as finely tuned as it can possibly be.Common OSD Settings and What They DoEvery monitor comes with a built-in menu that allows you to customize the panel's picture and make changes to the monitor's basic functionality. These menus and what they offer vary substantially from monitor to monitor but there are many common settings I’ll go over here. Be aware that the names of these settings tend to change slightly between manufacturers. Then you have the 144hz which is amazing if you have a GPU that can for the majority of the time push past 60FPS, otherwise there is no point upgrading unless you are looking to upgrade your GPU in the future, but then again, would you be going for AMD or Nvidia, it is a choice you have to make for yourself. I have a 1080TI and can easily push past 60fps with all games running at 1080p so I get the benefit of a 144hz screen. However, my AMD rig does not push past 60FPS so the benefit of having 144hz is not worth it. Reticle/Aim Assist: This setting places a reticle in the center of your screen, usually with a handful of choices for design and color. Great for shooters that don’t allow you to aim down sights, though can be fairly construed as an unfair advantage. Use in single-player games, disable in multiplayer or risk being labeled a cheater. Nvidia has recently opened up G-SYNC to FreeSync enabled monitors too, so if you have an Nvidia GPU and a FreeSync monitor, you very likely can still take advantage of adaptive sync. Just be aware that Nvidia’s list of officially certified “G-SYNC Compatible” monitors is still growing, so there are no guarantees that your monitor will offer a flawless G-SYNC experience if it’s not included on this list. That said, many do and it’s certainly worth trying it out for yourself. So let us get on with this review, a Gaming Monitor that offers a lot, looks amazing, but is it really all bells and whistles?

Can eG RUM provide additional transaction details such as the city from which the request originated and the telecom provider? Calibrating Brightness, Contrast, and Color SettingsMany gamers never bother calibrating their monitor. Don’t make this mistake! Though many high-end panels often come with some level of calibration applied by the manufacturer, this isn’t always the case and even uber expensive displays can usually benefit from a tweak or two. Thankfully, Windows has a handy tool built right in.IDC Whitepaper: “Optimizing Performance with Frequent Server Replacements for Enterprises” commissioned by Dell Technologies and Intel, March 2021. Results are based on interviews with 18 IT practitioners and decision makers at midsize and large enterprises and a web survey of 707 IT practitioners and decision makers at midsize and larger enterprises using Dell Technologies server solutions across 7 industries. The eG Real User Monitor FAQ - eG Innovations The eG Real User Monitor FAQ - eG Innovations

eG Innovations provides intelligent performance monitoring & management solutions that dramatically accelerate the discovery, diagnosis and resolution of service performance issues in virtual, cloud, and physical service infrastructures. eG Innovations offers 360-degree service visibility with automated, virtualization-aware performance correlation across every layer and every tier - from desktops to applications and from network to storage. This unique approach helps deliver deep, actionable insights into the true causes of cross-domain service performance issues and enables administrators to pre-emptively detect, diagnose and fix root-cause issues - before end users notice. Dynamic Contrast: Dynamic Contrast is a system built into many monitors that will automatically adjust the its contrast based on what is displayed. This causes the monitor to shift from bright to dark. If you prefer a static look to your monitor that maintains the brightness you choose, leave this setting OFF. Dell Premium Panel Exchange * allows a free monitor replacement during the Limited Hardware Warranty period, even if there is only a single broken pixel.

The eG RUM Collector

Edit the rum.propeties file in the \tomcat\webapps\rumcollector\WEB-INF\lib directory (on Windows; on Unix, this will be the /opt/rum/tomcat/webapps/rumcollector/WEB-INF/lib directory) One hugely important thing to be aware of is that, as of right now, there are still trade-offs if you would like to view HDR content at high resolutions like 4K. I’ll get to how to enable HDR on your PC soon, but be aware that running a 4K 144Hz panel with full RGB 10-bit color is currently not possible. DisplayPort 1.4 is designed for 8-bit color, 120Hz. Full 10-bit color without subsampling will demand a refresh rate closer to 100Hz. HDMI 2.1 looks to solve this problem but is currently not available at the time of this writing.
