Description
my loveโs DaisyChris deserve a whole ESSAY for how adorable they were โ or wouldโve been if we had more content of them just being cute *gets a murderous glint in eyes* โ ugh there were two iconic scenes in this book and I loved them! I donโt understand why we were given so less of themmm!! it breaks my heart at the injustice of it all ๐ฉ
This book didnโt give us anything new from MP2, and the plot was pretty much nonexistent. The first 80% was extremely drawn out, with all the action in the last 20%. The mafia bits felt thrown in and strung together to provide a reason for the hit, but it could have been executed better. As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian must come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes life's most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood. Other than him comparing her face to art every three seconds, I mean. Like okay, she's beautiful, I get it. But what else?! But he was so materialistic almost all the time, Iโm not convinced.
let's start with jonah and the other side characters because i HAVE to get some things off my chest: I enjoyed the sex tape plot and I enjoyed the few scenes with the Box Set which were not solely focused on Magnolia. You will fall in love with Daisy Haites a million times over and be desperate for more of her story when it ends.โ (FIVE STARS) Heโs happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affectionsโuntil she starts to infiltrate those, too. But again, there wasnโt enough of Daisy and Christian. For example; Daisy can drive! HELLO? Why wasnโt that mentioned? The first book was so deep and so raw regarding the two of them so this was disappointing.
make the Hemmes boys work together to find out what happened to their sister but no... everything always has to revolve around Magnolia and the Kylie Jenner of London (yes BJ, i'm talking about you). I could write a whole book on my feelings about Julian and Magnolia but Iโll try and keep it short. There was absolutely no reason for them to be in this book as much as they are. Julian and Magnolia were hooking up while she is in love with BJ. We know BJ and Magnolia are endgame, which makes this whole dragged out โJulian is in love with Magnoliaโ rhetoric both unnecessary and redundant. If the author wanted to do a โwho will Magnolia end up with?โ storyline, then she shouldnโt have given away the ending in MP2. I cannot stress enough how I wish he would just drop everything and change life somewhere else so that not one of his stupid โfriendsโ could ever find him because they all make his life as miserable as possible. ChristianDais [โฆ!!!!!!!!] Christian. I highlighted the shit out of their chapters. Whatever happens [โฆyes you had me there Jessa with the last chaptersโฆ.] they are ma babies. They are my 5๐babies. Protect them at all cost.I'm already suffering for the way both of them are going to feel guilty about Bridget, and in some point is fair because he wasn't honest with her about what was happening in his life and she did get involved with a gang lord without thinking in the consequences. the problems in Daisy and Christian's relationship are always brought by other people. and by other people i mean Magnolia and Julian, AS USUAL.
This book should have appropriately been called Julian Haites: The Great Undoing. If it had, perhaps I wouldnโt feel as disappointed by this book because my expectations would have been accurately set from the beginning. Even the cover points towards Julian, another disappointment, as the story-telling tattoos feel repetitive after learning how important BJโs tattoos about Magnolia are in MP1 and MP2. I preferred Julian in MP2 without his pov. I know, I know his pov, did it touch me? Yes but sometimes I rolled my eyes like โฆ.๐ didnโt mean I didnโt tear inside a little - it was heartbreaking but I also snorted not lady like a lot moreโฆ. and not at his feelings just I have this theoryโฆ :Julian - sigh, just sigh. Julian and Christian switched personalities in this book, but instead of being a funny pathetic like Christian was, he's just a sad pathetic. Julian's character was done the biggest disservice in this book and it just wasn't believable at all. I don't understand how you can like Julian and like the direction his character has gone. I feel like Jessa Hastings had the beginning and the ending of the book and then just filled the rest with Magnolia and Julian. I get that no one couldโve known how everything would unfold but thereโs a reason for everyone warning parks to stay away from him, which she clearly dismissed and thatโs on her. She was too stubborn and to her detriment. So Christian is the best character of this series, as usual. A living and breathing and walking white flag, as usual. A victim of his supposed friends, as usual. The โโโโplot twistโโโ of his sex tape has been the funniest part of this book. His presence has been the light at the end of the tunnel. Like I understand that we also have a Julian POV since he's also in the 2nd book and that Magnolia is a fav character in the mp universe but I somehow felt like their relationship takes over from this book more instead of Daisy and Christian. (since I didnโt read mp:tlwh cause I donโt like Magnolia and BJ that much so I didnโt know that some of what happened here was the same as from that book so thatโs why Iโm okay with it. probably if I read it, I would be a bit mad too)
All 20 year old Daisy Haites has ever wanted is a normal life, but itโs just not on the cards for her. Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered in front of them 12 years ago, Daisy hasnโt ever lived beyond the watchful gaze of her gang lord brother. But Julianโs line of work means that Daisyโs life isโฆcomplicated. And things donโt become any less complex when she falls hard for Christian Hemmes, the beautiful and emotionally unavailable boy sheโs been involved with for the last few months, who also happens to be one of the few men in London who doesnโt answer to Julian. Christianโs life is no walk in the park either, being in love with his best friendโs girlfriend and allโฆ Heโs happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affections, that is until she starts to infiltrate those too. As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian each have to come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes lifeโs most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood. Daisy Haites (Magnolia Parks Universe) by Jessa Hastings โ eBook Details Christianโs life is no walk in the park either, since heโs in love with his best friendโs girlfriend, Magnolia Parks. the harry styles lyric โtheres never been someone whos so perfect for meโ springs to mind when i think about this couple. Christian - who are you and what have you done with Christian. I almost didn't recognize this new Christian. He was so mature. I honestly came into this book expecting to rag on him like I do for the previous books, but I had very few complaints. I hated how he reacted to Daisy's reaction to the sex tape, but he moaned Daisy's name so I got over it. This man was so obsessed with Daisy he switched colognes, stared at daisies, and basically thought about her nonstop. I loved him. He was truly the best character in this book (the bar is rather though I must admit).Raised by her older brother, Julian, aftertheir parents were murdered, Daisy has never been able to escape the watchful gaze of her gang-lord brother. But Julianโs line of work means that Daisyโs life is . . . complicated. Jessa Hastings said that she doesnโt remember writing this book and that she obsesses about something and then writes about it and it shows. But please I need more Daisy and Christian moments together cause that's what I'm here for, theyโre my favourites from this series. Weโre probably gonna wait for the next one for a very long time and then of course it left us with a cliffhanger which was brutal too ๐ This book has been painfully bad to read. Jessa Hastings clearly forgot the plot right until the very last chapters and decided to fill the remaining space with unnecessary shit. i loved seeing daisy and magnolia form a friendship that was honestly so precious. UGH MAGNOLIA IS JUST SO PERFECT๐๐ (im in love w her idc ADD ME TO THE ROSTERRR)
