I’m disappointed that this feature has been removed without a word of warning. When a product is ‘updated’ it is relevant to inform current owners about removed features as much as new ones.

As the AdvancedRotak 650 is designed for huge lawns up to 650sqm, it makes sense to have a sizeable grass box to gather all the cuttings! The 50L grass box offers a good capacity and probably won’t need emptied unless you are mowing on an especially large lawn. The AdvancedRotak 650 has ergonomically design double handles that make pushing around the heavier unit a lot easier. They are shaped perfectly for your hands and feature soft grip padding so you don’t feel excessive vibrations, which is important considering how powerful the lawn mower is. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 features a 1700 watt powerful motor designed to cut larger and more demanding lawns whilst still providing a professional cut. This is assisted by the large amount of cutting heights that I will cover that later in this review. Another feature Bosch products are well known for is a great safety record. It is an investment that will just keep giving year after year, and put a smile on your face whilst mowing! The material is more prone to damage from tearing when in use, however, the material is good quality and if looked after should not be an issue. Another feature is the ErgoSlide System. This feature makes the lawn mower easier and more comfortable to move around. The ergonomic handles will also add to the ease of use.

The Bosch AdvancedRotak 36-650 does not draw the line at grass, either. The very efficient Leafcollect feature gives you a perfect finish when you are cutting the grass but can also collect leaves for easy disposal. This means this lawn mower from Bosch is extremely versatile and useful in all seasons. With the ProSilence feature Bosch have also kept vibrations and noise at extremely low levels for a mower of this power. As this lawnmower is very large, with a huge capacity grass collector and a wide cutting width, it would be best suited to either someone with a medium-to large lawn with no tight corners, someone with a lawn that’s heavily strewn with leaves or someone with reduced mobility who needs to make mowing less of a chore.All in all this Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 is a fantastic mower full of features that can be used to help make mowing your lawn that bit easier and enjoyable. The grass box on both the 750 and 650 have a solid top and bottom and a woven material side. This allows the grass collection box to be folded nicely flat to reduce storage space. There are a couple of small negatives with this type of grass collection box:- The cleverly designed grass box is generously sized at 50 litres, which ensures minimal trips to the compost heap to empty it. You’ll be pleased to note that it folds completely flat for easy storage. What I like about this mower is the seven different cutting heights and the easy way you adjust the height from the central handle. This really does make a difference as many competitors have a single lever mounted at the front of the mower which you have to fight with to adjust the height. The other nice touch is the huge 50 Litre grass box that folds flat and has a “grass box full” display, well done Bosch.

The other great feature of this mower is the ProSilence that reduces the noise level of this motor by up to 75%. I was sceptical at first but was pleasantly surprised at the low noise level of what is a very powerful motor. This AdvancedRotak 36-660 is the bigger brother of the Bosch UniversalRotak 36-560 and these two new mowers from Bosch are almost identical. For this reason, I am not going to write a full review of this larger Bosch cordless mower, but direct you to the full review of the Bosch UniversalRotak 36-560 here. But before you go – you need to know what the differences are between these two mowers so you get the one that is best suited to you and your lawn. You’ll love the super sharp Leafcollect blade which gives a uniformed neat finish and also effortlessly collects, shreds and distributes leaves from your lawn into the collection bag for easy disposal. This makes the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 extremely useful in any season. And those tiresome leaves that fall all over your lawn in the Autumn won’t be a problem any more!The video below from Bosch shows the ProSilence in action. It shows the AdvancedRotak with ProSilence at different distances and compares it to a mower (Rotak 43) without ProSilence. This should clearly show the benefits of the feature. Easy to manoeuvre, the electric-powered Rotak 650 is also extremely quiet thanks to the Prosilence feature which reduces sounds by up to 75%. This is great if you like to enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings while you work, or if you live in a built-up area. Boasting a whopping 1700W electric motor, the AdvancedRotak 650 is one of the larger motors on the Rotak range, making it best suited for medium and large sized gardens. Metal blades are generally sharper and provide a cleaner cut to the grass blade, resulting in a neater, tidier and superior finish to your lawn and garden. As stated above, the metal blades can be sharpened when needed unlike plastic blades. Even though I need the UK’s best electric lawn mower that can cut around tight spaces, I’d still invest in the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 purely for its simplicity. Plus, since the handlebars are ambidextrous, this is perfect for my family.
