About this deal

The only thing she has to go with are the travel journals of her sister, which makes it possible to retrace her sister’s last few months. I want to thank the publisher "Penguin Group Putnam" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this digital copy and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

The highlight of the novel isn't the story and/or the characters but the Greek island the six women travel to for a friend's bachelorette trip. This would make a great book for lounging by the pool or relaxing on vacation. This doesn't take much thought and is an enjoyable read. The guest list is small, just Bella, Lexi, Fen, Robin, Bella and Lexi's other closest friend from childhood, Eleanor, Lexi's soon to be sister-in-law, and Ana, a new friend Lexi has made in her adult life.

Loved it. Five stars. This reminded me of Liane Moriarty’s “Big Little Lies”, for readers of domestic thrillers. As the six narratives progressed, I became more involved with each and didn’t want any of the characters to be the one who died or be the murderer.

It was then that she decided to set up Bright Green Enterprise, her own company that worked with secondary schools delivering social enterprise events. But that’s not the whole story. Lexi has a secret about her relationship with Ed. Fen has a secret about the villa. Bella had a secret that came out at the airport, and now she’s not sure if her relationship with Fen will last the weekend. Ed has a secret that Eleanor knows about, but she doesn’t know that it will come out that weekend. Robyn has been living a life with the volume turned all the way down and needs this weekend to find herself again. But it’s Ana who has the secret that could bring everything to a grinding halt. With that in mind, she started to wring her novels featuring Mia and Katie the lead protagonists of her novel. She now has more than a dozen works to her name across several series and single-standing novels. The plot was perfectly paced. There was always someone’s secret to uncover, so the reader is never bored. I thought the ending was just the right amount of surprising without being over the top or unbelievable. Lucy Clarke is a bestselling and award-winning author of mystery fiction novels from the south coast of England. Robin and Bella had hooked up one night, but Robin pretended it didn’t happen because her parents disapproved.
