SPK Joinery design and manufacture a range of fully assembled, fully finished radiator covers in both modern and traditional styles. We understand that traditional homes demand a certain aesthetic, which is why our covers are available in a range of classic styles, including Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian. Our covers can also be customised to match your existing decor, with a range of finishes and colours to choose from. We chose our high-grade MDF for performance. With the look and quality of solid wood. For modern radiator covers, MDF is the answer.First, measure the length of your radiator. Don't just measure the panel – measure to the outside edge of any pipes and valves, and then add two cms on each side for clearance. Our bespoke service is more of a financial commitment compared with our supply only cabinets. When opting for this service, every detail is on us. All measurements are our responsibility. From measuring and design to installation, this is a complete service. Milled/cut using a professional CNC router and laser cutter making this an excellent quality and sturdy cover. We use 18mm medite moisture resistant (MR) MDF for the front frame, lid and legs. (Green tint can be seen on any unpainted material). 6mm premium medite MDF for the horizontal and vertical grille options and 3mm premium medite MDF for the orslow, diamond, fleur de lee, heart grille options. The primed MDF and finished MDF options are professionally sprayed using quality MDF sealer, white primer and a white satin finish. You have two style choices: a topper that goes above the radiator, or a cabinet covering the top and three sides. Covers should have openings on the top and all sides for heat circulation. Both styles should be sturdy, especially if you plan to use the top as a shelf. Toppers are typically made of wood. Materials commonly used to make cabinets (covers) include:

Made-to-measure radiator covers: For this option, you can choose a design, which will then be built from scratch to accommodate your specific radiator. It's the way to go if you want something of a reasonable standard, looks-wise, but don't necessarily have a standard-sized radiator or space. There is no doubt that mirrored furniture looks sensational in any room, in any home. It adds a touch of class and sophistication, helping rooms to appear bigger by spreading light across space. We make solid furniture pieces to place over a heat source. This causes a bit of a dilemma as real wood contains moisture. Once placed over a heat source, the moisture is expelled, causing the wood to distort. This means, next to a radiator, solid wood will twist and warp, especially over time. Radiator covers are available in a choice of standard and custom colours to match your existing decor (simply supply us with the paint name or code). They cost money: Although there are so many cheap radiator covers out there, they still cost money. And as they’re not an essential item in the home, some may find the cost of them to be unnecessary and a major disadvantage. Not sure about doing your own measurements? We offer a bespoke measuring and installation service. Please request a brochure to start the process.

Both radiator covers share the same design details, but the Kensington has the storage drawers above Our made-to-measure cabinets are hand-crafted to the highest standard in our UK workshop, combining quality and precision to ensure your new bespoke cabinets look fantastic and fit perfectly in your home. The traditional Regency style features a timeless grille design that can be customised with our range of grille options and skirting board detail that only runs across the front of the cabinet to avoid clashing with the skirting board style on your walls. It also features broader styles than other designs, making it a preferred choice to conceal larger radiators. Once your smaller lengths are attached to your longer lengths, assemble the whole cover using small nails to attach the lengths to the frame around your radiator, making sure there is still access to the valves and pipes.

What radiator cover finishes are available?

As radiator covers come in many designs and materials, it can be hard to know which one is best. Create a bespoke piece of furniture to cover tired radiators with our wooden radiator covers finished with our stunning brass grilles.
