About this deal

Stay dry and protected with our Waterproof Poncho Ripstop MIL-TACS FG. This poncho is not your average rain gear. It is made from a special ripstop material that is 100% waterproof and incredibly durable. The ripstop weave adds strength to the fabric, making it resistant to tears and rips, ensuring that it will last for years to come. Overall, this poncho has probably been around and in service longer than I’ve been alive. It seems bulletproof. I would trust it to be the most rugged in the field as a tarp or for guaranteed water protection when wearing it as a poncho. If you’re looking for the best compromise option as far as money and quality, then the Helikon Tex poncho is a fantastic option. It’s definitely not as large as the USGI surplus poncho, but it gets the job done if you can accept its limitations. It is waterproof, but runs small when wearing it for anyone taller than 5’9″. I do like the color and pattern selections that are available and I personally like the Polish Woodland pattern more than the USGI camo pattern. It blends better into my particular environment. This is the poncho I take on short day hikes and scouting for hunting. It will provide emergency protection (where I may very well be uncomfortable) and nothing more. Modern military ponchos are lighter - still nylon, but it is not rubberized. You'll want to get yourself one of these.

be fit for the purposes for which such goods are normally used, taking into account applicable law, technical standards or good practice; The Company - Mil-Tec specializes in tactical military gear. Their stuff comes very close to U.S.G.I. military rain gear in quality. But this poncho is more than just rain protection. It is a multi-function item that can be used in various ways. It has eyelets on the hem, allowing you to use it as a shelter or ground sheet. The press stud poppers on the sides enable you to use it as a sleeping bag cover or even a poncho or basha. The poppers also allow you to create "sleeves," so you can easily handle equipment without any restrictions. The snaps are modeled after the USGI poncho, where you can connect multiple ponchos together. This can be done with two Helikon Tex ponchos, but you’ll find that the snaps do not line up properly with a USGI poncho. You may get a few together, but it will soon become apparent that they are not made for each other based on their spacing. Definitely smaller than the USGI poncho, but lightweight and great for day hikes and short scouts.

Entrepreneur with consumer rights – a natural person concluding a contract with an entrepreneur directly related to his business activity, the content of which results that it does not have a professional character for that person. The Consumer or Entrepreneur with consumer rights may submit a statement on price reduction or withdrawal from the Agreement when: There is no drawstring around the waist to cinch up the sides of the poncho in heavy wind or when walking through heavy brush. It’s a hot wearing poncho due to that, and also comes with a distinct surplus smell that does not go away. Any of these ponchos will likely be in used condition, so you’ll want to be careful when reading the descriptions. I used Gorilla tape on the reverse side of the German military poncho to patch up any pinholes. Just hold the poncho to the sun to see them peaking through. This poncho is probably 50 years old and is still in great shape. The front of the poncho looks the exact same, minus the random patches of tape. Make sure to round off the tape corners so they don’t peel up on you as they rub against things! The length was just shorter by about an inch, but the width of the Helikon Tex poncho when compared to the USGI poncho was shorter by 7.5″! That means that your arms will be exposed in this poncho far more than they would with the USGI poncho, and that also means that you’re losing out on about 5 square feet of coverage when using it as a tarp! At Military 1st we hope you would be completely satisfied every time you shop with us. Occasionally though, we know you may wish to make a return. Mine came with dozens of small pinholes that were easy enough to patch from the inside with Gorilla Tape (cut in a circle pattern to avoid snagging the corners) by tying the poncho out as a tarp and trying to look at the sun through the poncho. In this free-for-all match, we’ve got the civilian Helikon Tex poncho up against the military surplus ponchos from the USA, Germany, and Angola. I have a big head and I didn’t have any issues getting my head into the hood and the hood covers my head just enough. If your head is normal sized, you’ll find the coverage to be enough. If you have a wound that needs to be kept dry, cut out a piece of fabric from the rain poncho and tie it over the normal bandage. When you combine the poncho with a poncho liner (or “Woobie” as some call it), you get a makeshift sleeping bag, or “ranger roll”. Made to military specifications, this poncho is built to withstand the toughest conditions. It is lightweight and compact, weighing approximately 680g in its carry bag. The drawstring carry bag is included, making it easy to store and transport.

The Mil-Tec Waterproof Ripstop Poncho is constructed from 100% nylon, built to prevent rips and tears. As a waterproof poncho, you can rely on it to protect during even the heaviest of rainfall. It could certainly be described as a ‘heavy-duty’ poncho, which will be durable against the elements.
