The Tremiti Islands are a picturesque archipelago of five tiny islands and a good place for swimming, scuba diving, walking, and boat trips to grottoes and coves.
If you’d prefer to stay in the centre of Vieste (best if you don’t have a car), there are plenty of options. In August, the boat trips looked very crowded, so we rented our own boat from Piccola Nautica. The cheapest 40HP boat, the Simpaty Honda (which doesn’t require a boat licence) costs from €85 for four hours. One of the highlights of any visit to Nardò should be seeing the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta. The intricate details and stunning frescoes within these buildings are breathtaking, and you’ll be blown away by their incredible appearance. The vision, dedication and execution required to create such a masterpiece are something we find particularly inspiring.

Vico del Gargano is a small hill town that’s one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Towns ( Borghi Piú Belli d’Italia) but is often overlooked by visitors to the Gargano.
