Description

I am sort of surprised, because Aramis fragrances in general appeal to a smaller demographic vs a lot of other brands, so they are selling less across the board anyway. So for them to discontinue Tobacco Reserve, they must have been selling next to nothing of this fragrance relatively speaking. Performance is excellent and lasts 6+ hours with good sillage and projection. Perfectly balanced, not a room clearer but undoubtedly present. Lasts incredibly well on clothing.

Launched in 1982, Aramis JHL is a traditional cologne that blends spices and woods. Delicate floral notes such as carnation, ylang-ylang and rose also appear for a well rounded masculine scent. And now for the animalic woody chypre classic launched in 1963, simply known as Aramis by Aramis. This confident, masculine fragrance is living proof that a leather/woody scent does not always need to be softened with vanilla or a bouquet of florals to stand out from the crowd. If like me, you don’t love a full-on leather fragrance, then Aramis Modern Leatheris a brilliant choice. Released in 2017, this masculine fragrance injects herbs and green geranium into the mix that seems to calm the overall leather note beautifully. At this point, I am really reminded of my late grandmothers garden where geranium always bloomed to beautifully. Upon dry-down, oakmoss appears first, yet is soon overtaken by a quality leather note that is both classy and refined. Aramis previously focused on tobacco with their 1994 Havana and the 1996 follow-up, Havana Reserva, both composed by the great Edouard Fléchier. The two Havana scents developed a loyal following with the former being relaunched (and sadly somewhat reformulated) in 2009. As for when to wear, Tuscany Per Uomofeels like an any-season daytime fragrance that is bright and cheerful. Makes a great office scent, holiday scent, or casual every-day fragrance.

Michael Kors allegedly will join Versace in EuroItalia's portfolio. Inter Parfums has taken Donna Karan and DKNY. The tobacco aroma here reminds me of the somewhat hung tobacco leaves, no longer fresh but also not thoroughly dried. Well, I don't know. I think I only bought it because it's pretty unique for me and a "real" Aramis. So, out of decency, somehow. I also take was not really masculine, but to women it does not fit either (except see later in the text). From the level and the speciality (not from the smell!) it should be possible to position it next to the Aramis (Classic) (unfortunately I can't find anything about first scent impressions from 1964). I had read in another commentator once, "it is not a scent but a smell". That's the way I'd see it here. The or a peculiarity, something long and sensational both have as characteristic. But I can't spontaneously think of the occasion for which I should wear it - except to go to church or as an altar boy. The fragrance could fit to the "Allvater" because of the sacral opulence (who knows the series "The Preacher"...). No kidding aside. Probably it comes across well on a lonely forest walk in autumn or winter (no matter region, the main thing is lonely). I once had an office colleague from the gothic scene. A very sweet and nice one (she had such small, sweet coffins in her potted flowers...). She always wore an extreme sweet Patchouli incense stuff unknown to me (was probably a self-creation). I think she'd like the scent. At the moment, however, I remain on the usage route. As for when to wear, Aramis JHL is an excellent choice for autumn/winter evenings when the warming and spicy notes will hold their own. Presented in true Aramis style with its elegant straight-lined bottle with gold cap and brown leather coloured label with gold edging.

Author Bio

Upon dry-down, patchouli and oakmoss provide additional punch, with woody notes coming into play once this scent has fully settled. Performance is pretty good, although sillage and projection are not huge, yet longevity is a more than reasonable 5+ hours. The opening is sharp and zesty with lemon, bergamot and lime all jostling for your attention. There is also a touch of lavender that subtly creeps in. A heart of mixed herbs, in particular the liquorice scent of anise and caraway blend with orange blossom for a sophisticatedly fresh masculine vibe. A blooming heart of rose, carnation and slightly bitter geranium effortlessly cast their magic. Upon dry-down, the animalic note of civet combines with oakmoss and a touch of patchouli to complete this sophisticated male scent. After the closure of the ADF division, Lauder will focus on what has left: Tom Ford Beauty, Le Labo, Editions de Parfums de Frederic Malle, Jo Malone, Aerin, Kilian Paris, Clinique and its core brand, Estée Lauder, for which a new exclusive fragrance line was recently announced.

This is not a smoky scent. Tobacco doesn't burn here. No, Tobacco Reserve gives the aroma of the wrapper of a freshly made cigar. I really like him that far, too. Performance is good and lasts 5+ hours with decent sillage and projection. Lasts longer on clothing but be careful of staining. Finished in a dark glossy colour, the square design bottle storing this exotic, warming liquid, represents clean and crisp lines. Aramis has been launching a new fragrance nearly every year as of late. Tobacco Reserve follows last year's launch of Aramis Modern Leather.Performance is 5+ hours of longevity and decent sillage and projection. Not a beast-mode frag but certainly keeps up with far more expensive scents. Presented in a classy straight-lined bottle with gold cap and matching gold label. Not the highest quality bottle up close. The Tobacco Reserve starts very sweet with tonka and tobacco. Sage spices and nutmeg provides a very subtle spiciness. Fruity notes flashed briefly times and are then gone again. I would not have recognized currant. A little moss at the end and that's it. The initial sweetness becomes more bearable as it progresses, resulting in a finely balanced scent between tobacco and spices that also has a fairly good longevity. Smoky I do not find him thereby. Aramis JHL opens with a refreshing burst of citrus and fresh aldehydes that can catch you by surprise. Spicy-sweet cinnamon is the most prominent heart note. It is soon joined by a floral trio of soft carnation, rose and exotic ylang-ylang. The bottle itself remains pretty much untouched from the 1960s. It’s manly, weighty, straight-lined bottle emits the golden glow of the fragrance lurking inside. Completed with a gold cap.
