This is the first instance where a Power Rangers season does not air the year following its respective Super Sentai counterpart. This is the first season to clearly specify that other Power Rangers teams existed before Mighty Morphin'. The Rangers change into armored Mega Mode to pilot their Zords. The armor pieces are stylized versions of their standard ranger forms. The helmets are sharper in design and contain mouthplates. These ranger forms have pads on their shoulders, elbows, chest area, and thighs and have a reinforced undermaterial. The boots and gloves are also specially padded. Their silver elbows and kneepads are adorned with gems of their ranger color. Power: Being the leader of the Nighloks, Xandred was the strongest and most powerful villain in the entire Power Rangers Samurai series. Prior to her service to Master Xandred, Dayu was once a woman named Dahlia, recently married to the man known as Deker. On the night of their wedding the two presented each other with gifts: a katana for Deker and a decorated guitar for Dahlia. Sometime in the night a fire broke out in their home while Dahlia and presumably Deker were asleep, when Dahlia woke to find their bedroom burning, Deker was nowhere to be found. The couple managed to escape the house, but Deker was severely injured.Typhoportation: Serrator could disappear, then reappear to another location in large puffs of gray-purple smoke.
