About this deal

Choreograph simple, humorous dance moves for the children dressed as animals. It should be something easy and fun, allowing even the youngest participants to join in. Description: A group of children, possibly with one having a speaking line announcing Jesus’ birth. Others can sing or do simple choreographed movements. If you decide to use “The Star of Bethlehem” for your school’s nativity play, we would be overjoyed to see how it turns out! Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." This moving poem, showing the hope and light that is associated with Christmas, comes to us from the Anglo-Irish poet who was father of the Hollywood legend Daniel. In his early years, Day-Lewis was a Marxist who became a member of the British Communist party, and was influenced by his university friend WH Auden; but he became a much more traditional lyric writer, and an unlikely establishment figure who was awarded the role of poet laureate in 1968.

We can’t wait to see your performances and wish you all a very merry and theatrical Christmas season! Read the Nativity Script Below Narrator Line During the Scene: “Look at the sheep, the cows, and even the dove, Dancing and prancing in their stable of love!” Romans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." All characters come forward and bow/curtsy. The play can conclude with a final Christmas carol involving the audience.) Angel: (Announcing) “Fear not, for born today in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”

Main characters include Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Three Wise Men, Shepherds, Angels, and the Stars. Transition Song: “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” (A gentle start, fitting with the starry theme.) Scene 2: Mary and Joseph’s Journey

Description: Can be one child or a small group, telling the story and guiding the audience through the scenes. They speak in rhymes or simple lines. Innkeeper 3:“I wish I could help, for your need is clear, But perhaps in the stable, you’ll find some cheer.” A number of elements were used as inspiration for other programs. The 'lights on a well known building being accidentally switched off' gag is used by comedian Peter Kay at the end of his Live at the Top of the Tower DVD, while the turkey scene inspired a scene in an episode of Friends titled " The One with All the Thanksgivings", and later led to an adaptation for the film Bean, though it was cut out of the international release (outside North America) and reserved for a special feature section entitled "Bean Scenes Unseen". [6] Another turkey gag was used in the Mr. Bean: The Animated Series episode "Dinner for Two". Here are the most popular Christmas Bible verses about the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, the Nativity story, and the true meaning of Christmas. Whether you're looking for Bible verses to write in Christmas cards, a Bible story for your family to read around the tree, or just as a personal reminder of why we celebrate the season, these Christmas Scriptures will remind you of the joy we have because of Jesus Christ! Transition Song: “Away in a Manger” (Setting the mood for the humble stable setting.) Scene 4: In the Stable

Songs are suggested in between each scene, which can be adjusted according to your school’s preferences. Luke 1:35: "And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God." Matthew 2:10: "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy." Christmas Bible Verses for Holiday Cards Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Luke 2:20: "The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told." The Guiding Star(s): (Narration) 5 “So remember the story of this special birth, And spread joy and kindness all over the Earth.” The Guiding Star(s): (Narration 2) Let’s peek at the animals on this holy night.” Scene 4: The Dancing Animals Micah 5:2: "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days."

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The narrator(s) can deliver these lines with warmth and expressiveness, making the audience feel appreciated and part of the celebration. The play can include simple handmade costumes and props, encouraging creativity and involvement from the children in preparing for the performance. The play is designed to be inclusive and adaptable, ideal for a group of roughly 30 children, with the flexibility to accommodate more participants by doubling up roles. Storyline Encourage the children to express joy and excitement in their dance to convey the celebratory mood of the scene.

Christmas is not a merry time for all, as Wendy Cope makes clear in this perfectly executed poem, reproduced below. Comedic talent is as underrated in the world of poetry as it is in other art forms, but Cope is a virtuoso whose highly skilled work dazzles with irony, wit, and parody. She has been called “a jet-age Tennyson” for her pitch-perfect common touch: Narrators (the stars) share heartfelt messages about the meaning of Christmas, focusing on love, sharing, and being kind to one another. John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." Bible Verses About the Meaning of ChristmasLuke 2:7: "And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn."
