Description

I don’t miss those days at all: begging to get on-air, constantly fretting when I didn’t. There simply isn’t time to tell every story.

Maybe I’m a liar too. I chose this career because I wanted to tell the truth. I wanted to tell the stories that mattered most, the ones that I thought people needed to hear. Stories that I hoped might change the world and make it a better place. But I was naïve. People working in the media today have more power than politicians, but what good is trying to tell the truth about the world when I can’t bear to be honest about my own story: who I am, where I came from, what I’ve done. His & Hers is a twisty, smart psychological thriller. A gripping tale of suspense, told by expertly drawn narrators that will keep listeners guessing until the very end. No one can plot – or write – a story like Alice Feeney. His & Hers is a stunning, addictive novel that makes you wonder who you can trust – if anyone. Captivating from beginning to end, this book should not be missed!" - Samantha Downing, bestselling author of My Lovely Wife

Comments

And-the murderer-a distorted VOICE on the audio, who could be male or female, and who explains the motive and murder to YOU, the reader, beginning in Chapter One. Faster and more twisted than a roller coaster with an ending that’ll make your stomach drop, Alice Feeney’s Sometimes I Lie is not to be missed. I loved it!” — Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of The Good Girl and Every Last Lie Yes: That’s how I felt after my reading and I’m telling you this is one of my special reads of this year. I know I gave nearly 10 thrillers to 5 stars but if I give this book 6 stars to differentiate it from my other reads I couldn’t think a second to do it!

I listened to this audiobook in just a couple of days. Right from the start, there's twists and turns that pull readers deeper into the story. All lead messy and imperfect lives, but where other reviewers disliked them-I actually felt sorry for them and was hoping they would eventually find their way... A gripping debut with a brilliant twist, I LOVED it!” —BA Paris, New York Times bestselling author of Behind Closed Doors Alice Feeney’s His & Hers is quite the thriller whodunit. It had me zigging. And zagging. Constantly. Never have red herrings caused me to point my finger at so many suspects, assured of their guilt, only to turn right around and abandon my theories. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine give an arresting performance of this dark psychological thriller.... As secrets are uncovered and additional bodies are found, Armitage and Racine shine with impeccable pacing, building tension that adds to the suspense." ( AudioFile Magazine)Narration was fine, but just such an unwholesome and unpleasant listen, I feel like I could do with a shower to get the grime off! We gulped down this intense thriller in one heart-in-our-mouth afternoon – it's that good!’ Sun on Sunday Fabulous In 2019, Fox bought the television rights to Sometimes I Lie, and in November 2019 a project for a television series starring Feeney enthusiast [4] Sarah Michelle Gellar was revealed. Robin Swicord was engaged to adapt the book, and Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman, as well as Gellar and Swicord, were to be executive producers. [5] In 2020, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Campo, and Endeavor Content acquired the television rights to His & Hers. [6] Bibliography [ edit ] One thing I didn't like was the descriptions of animal cruelty. I understand that authors use this to make a point, but I really feel it’s unnecessary. That being said, I found the rest of this dark and unsettling tale gripping and entertaining. Anna Andrews is a local TV reporter. She’s been given what looks to be the opportunity of her career. Her assignment, cover a murder that just happens to be in the village where she grew up. What a huge break! This should give her the “in” she craves. Only covering this crime may be a little too close to home for Anna to be impartial.

This is where the YAWN came in. I fell asleep as I slowly became more and more bored and disenchanted with this unlikable tale and woke up in the middle of some awful part about cats being captured and having their tails cut off.Nevertheless, I enjoyed His & Hers. It’s heart-racing. It’s addictive. It’s (mostly) smart. And it undoubtedly falls on the better end of the thriller spectrum. Your misdirection flawless, with plenty of plausible red herrings for us to suspect and then reject along the way! Once again Kendall is on her outlier island. I have a really hard time figuring out Alice Feeney's books. On the one hand, her writing is addicting and grabs you in from the get go... but OH NO... that ending?! OH god... that was pretty horrible folks. Yikes.... double yikes. This book is full of everything you love to hate, unreliable narrators, messy characters with messier pasts and creepy woods. 🌲🍂 Anna Andrews finally has what she wants. Almost. She’s worked hard to become the main TV presenter of the BBC’s lunchtime news, putting work before friends, family, and her now ex-husband. So, when someone threatens to take her dream job away, she’ll do almost anything to keep it.
