YOU LOVE LISTS? Wow, we have a lot in common! Other than the fact that you are much younger and better looking and speak seven languages, I'd say we were separated at birth.. And a little advice to future Man Candy readers: If you haven't heard of "I Will" by The Beatles, please listen to it. It's a lovely song.

What we get with this setup is fantastic scenes, dialogue, and a love story based on the willingness to trust and put yourself out there. It is the best. I could not wait to devour my sinfully sweet piece of Man Candy like the most delicious chocolate, so when it finally hit my kindle, I may have belted out a squealing bookgasm! After giving the cover a few eyegasms because it’s seriously stunning. The cover is perfect for Mr. Man Candy, a story that is as striking and steamy inside as it is outside. bed. It was sort of silly, but it meant a lot to my mother, who still played Santa, setting out gifts for my father, Giselle, and me under the tree. In the morning, tradition dictated we all put on a Christmas sweater and open gifts together, after which my dad made eggs and bacon for everyone, and my mom and I baked cinnamon rolls. Later, we’d make real hot chocolate and watch It’s a Wonderful Life as we drank it from these oblong coffee cups my mother called “hug mugs” because you had to cradle them with two hands. I often rolled my eyes at my mother’s goofy traditions, but in my heart I knew I’d probably do the same things for my children one day. If I ever have them. Depressed, I snapped off the lamp and pulled the covers up to my chin. In the distance, I heard the familiar sleigh bells CD that my mother had played every year after Giselle and I went up to bed in the effort to convince us there really was a Santa Claus. But there was no Santa Claus. No Easter Bunny, no Tooth Fairy, no Prince Charming coming to wake me in the morning with a kiss. “Asshole,” I muttered. Then I flopped onto my belly, squeezed my eyes shut, and went to sleep. Sometimes being with someone from your past is like going home again. No matter how long it's been, you don't forget the way.” Does love exist? Is it real? Well...Melanie Harlow will do her damnedest to make you believe it in MAN CANDY.

If You Were Mine by Melanie Harlow Summary

I do not have to tell how incredibly hot the relationship is between Quinn and Jaime... from the happy, biting teasing... with buttons pushed to the breaking point... to the dirty talking whispered in ears and out and out pet names to make you giggle like a schoolgirl. The humor is top-notch and all of it flows so naturally.

On purpose? Why on earth would I do that?” This was unbelievable! Jaime shrugged. “It might not be on purpose. Sometimes I think our subconscious works against us or something. Your brain is like, Yes, I want to find someone so I’m going to go on this date, and your heart goes, But wait, this is scary and I could get hurt. So you look for things wrong with the person, reasons why they’re not the right one. We’ve all done it.” I inhaled and exhaled slowly, trying to stay calm. “I think it goes beyond dating, too,” Jaime went on. “You’re brilliantly talented, and for as long as I’ve known you, your dream has been to sell your artwork, or at least display it somewhere, but you haven’t done that yet, either.” “I’m going to,” I said defensively. “Jeez, you guys.” An awkward silence hung among us, which was rare. Margot touched my hand, her blue eyes full of concern. “I’m sorry if we hurt your feelings. We didn’t mean to.” “I’m sorry, too,” Jaime said. “I shouldn’t have said that. I’m an asshole.” I took a shaky breath. “I’m OK. It’s just not terribly pleasant to hear that your friends—and a complete stranger, which means it’s probably obvious to everyone but me—think I’m sabotaging all my dreams because I’m a coward.” “You’re not a coward,” Jaime said fiercely. “You’re just careful. But you’re also beautiful and wonderful and gifted and we just want everyone to know it. Be brave! Put yourself out there!” “I hear what you’re saying. I just don’t know how to do that.” I frowned. “I wish I was more like my sister.” Jaime rolled her eyes. “I said brave, not egomaniacal.” I managed a small smile. “I’ll try.” “You sure you’re OK?” Margot asked. “Yes. Look, it’s not really anything I didn’t know—I’ve been a Nervous Nellie all my life. There’s a reason I don’t get on airplanes, horses, or motorcycles. I’m not a thrill-seeker. And normally I’m fine with it. I’m probably oversensitive right now because I feel like I’m surrounded by happy couples, and I’m the misfit. The odd one out.” “You’re not.” Jaime was adamant. “Of course you’re not,” Margot added. I was, but it wasn’t their fault and I didn’t want them to feel guilty about being happy and in love. “Let’s talk about something else.” I turned to Margot and put on a smile. “Tell me what’s new with the wedding.” While she filled Jaime and I in on how all the final details were shaping up, I found myself getting swept up in the romantic excitement. Although they’d told them about it this morning.” “Those poor kids.” I shook my head. “No wonder they were so squirrelly. And I can’t believe Elyse managed to keep that secret either!” “Let me see the ring again.” Jaime took my hand and sighed over it. “So beautiful. You did great, Theo.” He kissed my cheek. “Much better than I ever thought possible.” I smiled at him as my heart beat fast with love and pride and excitement. Theo was nothing like the prince I’d thought I wanted, but he was everything I needed, now and ever after. There's a certain type of book boyfriend that I find completely irresistible. I mean, I like all kinds of things (and I'm pretty vocal about what I like), but there's one particular type that just completely owns me—and Quinn Rusek is exactly that type of book boyfriend.

I actually cried. I can't tell you when because it will spoil the story but to feel the pain in their voices, it gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes. Breathtaking!!! sometime this month.” “Sounds good. I’m really happy for you, Claire.” “Thanks.” My stomach fluttered. “I’m happy, too.”

I love Quinn! He is an amazing book boyfriend—sweet, thoughtful, funny, good looking, and amazing in bed. He's loyal to his family and everyone he cares about. He never pushes Jaime, and he understands her enough to know what she needs. He knows when to be in charge and knows when to give way. I love this man. PDF / EPUB File Name: If_You_Were_Mine_-_Melanie_Harlow.pdf, If_You_Were_Mine_-_Melanie_Harlow.epub Quinn wasn't really the ass Jaime thought of him. He had all of these questionable feelings for Jaime...new feelings as they sort of grew up together. His mom worked for Jaime's family cooking and Quinn would end up over at their house more times than anyone could count. He was practically like a brother... and would tease her all of the time. He loved getting her all worked up... seeing her feisty, sassy, and full of piss and vinegar. But when Jaime started to change into this woman/girl... Quinn didn't quite know how to react to it... after all Jaime's family was always there for him and he knew it would be wrong to take advantage of her. Man Candy was fun and sexy. It was a romance lover's dream! It had me swooning and laughing well into the night, and even panting in some places. I loved it to pieces and can't recommend it enough if you're in the mood for something light but incredible satisfying! I know he’s made mistakes. I know his wounds are deep, and he doesn’t trust easily. I know he doesn’t believe he could ever be enough to make me happy, but he could.

Let’s be real here though because those scenes would be nothing without these characters. Jaime is spunky and assertive as well as a dedicated and supportive friend. However, she always opts for no-strings-sex and avoids commitment in fear of losing herself within the confines of a romantic relationship. Quinn is such a good guy. Despite being an accomplished model, he’s not just a pretty face and hot body as he is attentive, introspective and ambitious, looking to settle down after the recent loss of his mother. I loved the fresh take on gender roles and stereotypes when it comes to starting a maintaining a romantic relationship and easily related to Jaime’s feelings on showing and receiving affection. I loved them both, found their love story while complex, wholly relatable, and absolutely want more of them. Maybe a little #lovebug in Margot's book? A novella? Something! I DID HAVE CHOCOLATE SYRUP. But Theo got even more excited about the tube of crescent rolls I had in the fridge. “Oh my God, I have the biggest craving I don’t fault the quality of the writing. My main problem with the story is that it was difficult for me to relate to Jaime. For her, having sex doesn’t equal intimacy. She has built up so many walls that she objects to hugging or hand holding, yet has no problem having down and dirty sex with Quinn. I might have understood her behavior better if she had some major events in her past to justify being so extremely fearful of getting hurt. One incident with Quinn when they were teenagers hardly explains keeping men in general at arms length. Jaime also comes across as rather immature.
