But because the Netbox only has one tuner, you can’t record one programme while watching another channel.

But other than being quick, the interface is also Netgem’s most unique selling point, even over competing Freeview boxes. In recent years, however, Netgem has been focusing on signing contracts with broadband providers, becoming their “TV Offer”. Then, you also get all the default Freeview Play catch-up apps: BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My 5, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup and Horror Bites. Join thousands of regular readers worldwide and stay up to date with regular reports on the future of television and video. There is one of these awful help 'bots' that seems to think it is fun to answer a different question to the one you've asked and when it passes you to a human NOTHING HAPPENS. I am still discovering the netgem TV app but I quite like the idea to watch content across multiple devices, like my iphone or my ipad and keep watching my serie wherever I go.

I can find all my usual Freeview TV channels, plus tons more (I think over 100) which is great for random channel surfing.Netgem has been on the streaming box scene for a little while now, and its latest streaming box, the Netbox 4K, and its accompanying 4K-enabled subscription service hope to make streaming accessible for everyone. I have been using Netgem TV for over a year now and I am extremely satisfied with the service I've received. Choose Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (reference number 729184). I’ve seen it grow from a normal satellite TV box to a “timeshifting” one and then, as on-demand TV increased in popularity, we got more choice and flexibility than ever. The recording function is very poor and seems to interfere with the internet transmission of other programmes while it's operating.

Can't see the point in it, any 4K TV offers more apps and if you want to record from Freeview bung a usb drive or portable HDD in a USB socket on the TV. Measuring around 130mm on each side and standing just 40mm high, it’s actually a little smaller than its HD sibling, and the rounded corners give it a nicer, less angular look. The Netbox supports 4K and HDR (and on the sound front – Dolby Atmos) – and it certainly delivers excellent picture quality on the supported services.Choose Ltd is also an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of Seopa Ltd for insurance mediation (reference number 843466).

This is a totally subjective issue, but I like to have the TV Guide front and centre and other services available at a button press, whereas Netgem has gone for a slightly weirder presentation. Some of these channels are available in partnership with SportsTribal TV after Netgem committed to strengthening their sports offer in June 2021.Netgem TV services are available alongside broadband plans from several ISPs across the UK, and this is a key area of expansion for the company. With support for Freeview Play catch-up apps, as well as a few additional popular streaming apps (like Prime Video), the interface tries to combine all these services into one. Freeview, as the name implies, is FREE, without a monthly cost – but most people do need to pay the annual TV licence fee. This means that once the Netbox learns your TV tastes – for example, you like dramas – it will try to show you personalised recommendations from Freeview Play apps (such as the BBC), or dramas available on Prime Video, or even related movies available to rent on Rakuten.
