Fight Club [Blu-ray] [1999]
- Brand: Unbranded
Description
With Tyler taking over the club and taking over Marla, our narrator finds himself in something he can’t control anymore. provides considerable latitude for re-framing during the editing process, which David Fincher may have developed a taste for when working on the various home video editions of Se7en. Norton, in particular, has a very good grasp on his character and the plot, adding a lot of interesting insight.
There are a couple of periods of inactivity but the rest of the content more than makes up for the short breaks in this commentary track. The “On Location” segment offers the most revealing behind the scenes glance, with lots of B-roll footage included. The only disappointment in this regard is that very few of them have been upgraded to high definition. The audio, on the other hand, is absolutely remarkable and a definite improvement over previous DVD releases.
One can hardly measure the amount of testosterone, angst, and brutal fortitude that this film exudes. While Pitt has a pretty reputation, after his turns in Seven and Twelve Monkeys, he seems to have a very good handle on less than glamorous roles.
