I'm coming from the Land Rover world where the GAP iiDTool is a vital piece of equipment to own as it has many special functions specific to Land Rovers and has saved my bacon a number of times. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . I don't know how anyone can own a TT (or any VAG) without a proper VAG scanner unless they have a friendly garage, good friends, or deep pockets. Otherwise the OBDeleven app and ui is just plain better and easier with the pre-canned 'apps' allowing you to do 90% of what VCDS offers without the risk inherent in doing your own work to code and recode modules by hand. With the Audi diagnostic scanner, you can clear the warning lights on your car's dashboard without going to the garage.

I do actually like odb eleven, it comes with soft coding wizards, although the one output test I tested on a mark6 golf only half worked. The cost of the klavkarr is recouped with the first use compared to a diagnostic check at the garage! It offered a variety of engine options, including gasoline, diesel and even hybrid versions, and featured Audi’s famous Quattro all-wheel drive system. For the purpose of this discussion the term "OBDII Diagnostic Device" includes any diagnostic device that can be used to interrogate and report on the status of the electronic system of the Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3 TT by means of the OBD port. You can download the Carly lite app for free and use it to evaluate a basic feature set and satisfy yourself that Carly is for your car.

To re-iterate we will do our utmost to help and assist, where we can, however this advice is provided as-is and shall have no liability in relation thereto. If you receive a red indication, your car is quite sick and needs emergency attention — a simple system, which any layperson can understand and act upon. Is it safe to use the cheaper/unknown brand ones, or will I risk frying my ECU or other electronics?

With impeccable accuracy and ease of operation, our equipment works for professionals and novices alike. The collected data must also be handled and interpreted correctly if a proper diagnosis is to be made. The reason I ask is that when a sensor on the CANBUS circuit (such as G65) is shorting (mine was internally corroded and broke apart), it was causing the fuse 38 on that circuit to blow repeatedly - which took out the power steering, and gave messages about the J500 non-communication from other control units. You may discover a feature you’ve always wanted to try, or you may come across possibilities you never knew about before.

it also has no limitations on the amount of times used, no Credits or VIN to worry about or reduced functionality. You'll be able to scan for codes and faults, plus have the additional benefits of doing coding changes, etc. Then bought a proper Rosstech VCDS cable a few years ago and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made, have used it on all the VAG group cars in my family and it's an essential bit of kit IMHO for a TT owner. From reading forums like this I think I might have a door handle sensor fault but don’t have a diagnostic tool. Looks like they use two different communication protocols or something is wrong with my petrol audi.

An OBD diagnostic device can be a stand-alone device that you connect via cable to your Audi’s OBD port or a wireless adapter that connects to an app on your smartphone. A lot of those are for devices that are tapping into the desirability of VCDS but aren't quite the whole package. Honestly the whole thing is a bit messy IMO--like why if you subscribe to Pro do you still need to worry about credits? That means most OBD diagnostic devices are universal and are therefore not designed for a specific car. With its combination of performance, comfort and reliability, it has set the bar high for the luxury class and remains a sought-after vehicle on the used car market.

you can unlock all car brands in the Carly app, which is useful if you have more than one brand in your garage. He made it sound like VCDS was more limited because of that, but I haven't seen anyone else mention it. VAG cars are based on Audi Volkswagen Skoda and Seat, and can get all information and data from your vehicle. The good news I guess is that it came back with no DTC codes, although I don't know how thorough these things are. The scanner will not communicate with this laptop, so I purchased and installed a Bluetooth USB stick v5 and still no luck.
