This stunning book has given me characters that will stay with me for a very long time and I'm still thinking about the stories and journeys this morning after finishing the book last night.
The fast pace and riveting subject matter consumes the reader and provides an intense reading experience.

This is police procedural at its best… It is complex, intriguing, and the writing hooked me in completely. While it kept my attention throughout, I had to read this in pieces as I wanted to pace myself on the graphic details and content matter.The excitement in a thriller is to gradually get at a conclusion, it’s to monitor the detective’s deductions, it’s to see how a clue or idea become a lead. Having read all of KL Slater's previous novels I took the precaution of clearing my afternoon and evening before reading the first page and I'm glad I did as I barely moved from my sofa until I'd reached the end. The dialogue is excellent; sassy, smart and taking no prisoners where work is concerned, through to the a concern for the feelings of others whose life have been blighted by the 'facility'.
It's taken me a while to get round to starting this series which has been recommended to me many times! Like the rest of her team, he is loyal and stands up for her when the higher-ups would have her removed from the case. I expect great things of Angie Marsons and I can't wait to read the next in the series, “Evil Games.I've read every book by this author and I always end by saying it's my new favourite and this one is no exception. But she has a need to fight for the victims, a depth of understanding that can only come from someone who has ultimately suffered herself, and an underlying tenderness, displayed best when it comes to the character of Lucy, that is extremely well written. There's a light sense of humor throughout that I found refreshing, but it doesn't take away from the seriousness of the crimes. Three evenings and the book is finished, and all I can think is I can’t wait for more from Angela Marsons and DI Kim Stone!
The chapters alternated with present day Every time I read a book by this author I feel that it's her best yet and A Daughter's Courage is no different. I also like that there is a balance between the crime investigation process and the character portrayal.
