The initial sensations are tactile, full-bodied and silky as they unfold like a caress, gradually becoming bolder. Full-bodied, charming, broad and fleshy, with pristine balance, it’s a seamless, complete and vinous Champagne of compelling purity and maturity.

After a markedly smooth and round initial mouthfeel, the wine nestles in the heart of the palate, settling with a sort of intimately intense caress. When I tasted this wine early in 2018, I noted: "an austere reticence that is quite uncommon for a 2005”. On the nose, intense and fresh red fruit character – wild cherries and redcurrants, which then mingle and give way to notes of Mirabelle plums and toasted bread. A strong similarity to the blanc version here, and again, I’d probably wait for the P2 or P3 versions of this wine as extended lees aging should help manage the excesses of the vintage. As the harvest began on September 15, conditions were at last perfect - bright sunshine and sustained north to north-easterly winds.A crisp biscuity tone underpins red fruit nuances such as sweetheart cherries, pineberries, white flowers, orange zest, and a sprig of fresh mint. Since 1st January 2019, Vincent Chaperon has succeeded Richard Geoffroy as Dom Pérignon’s Cellar Master. Critics have scored this as one of the top 5 Champagne Rose wines: The Wine Advocate gave the 2009 vintage a score of 95.

Strong, spicy and firm character, still in a youthful berry exuberant face but lurking to reveal its wild, winey and Burgundian side. At times powerful, but in other moments finessed, the 2006 constantly changes in the glass, revealing a different shade of its personality with every taste. Hints of rose petals and raspberry at first and after a little more time in the glass plenty of red fruit character lifts the nose. A blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, this cuvée bears the famous 'Clicquot Yellow' label, a symbol of excellence recognized throughout the world. The nose delivers an intense blast of banana oil (possibly a consequence of the combined effects of drought and reduced yields). Intense nose offering roasted nuts, nougat, pain d’épices, rose petal and seductive fruit like wild raspberry and peach. From its orange-pink color to its mature toast and almond flavors, this complex wine is much more than the fruit that has merged with the secondary flavors. The first nose is very floral and gives way to notes of cherry and candied lemon with cocoa and a touch of smoke, all of which form a beautiful aromatic complexity.

The rise of the single grain is eagerly anticipated as the next wave in the spirits industry-and Haig Club Deluxe is at the forefront of the movement. Read Jancis Robinson's review of our recent Dom Pérignon Retrospective tasting - including scores, tasting notes and a league table of all 23 champagnes tasted, spanning 1990-2009. The fruit asserted itself with remarkably intense aromatic persistence and a composite consistency that opened up an exciting array of possibilities. Offers great length, very vibrant and vinous on the finish, a great food companion with promising ageing potential. The Maison produces elegantly balanced, harmonious and extraordinarily age-worthy Champagnes that are appreciated the world over.

Tempered by a slow, masterful transformation during nearly 12 years in the cellar, Dom Pérignon Rosé is a vibrant incarnation of both light and darkness.

In comparison to the charming, pure 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé, the 2009 Dom Pérignon Rosé possesses a ripe, dense bouquet with aromas of dark berries, licorice, dried white flowers, toast and pastry, enhanced by delicate, racy smoky hints. Full-bodied, broad and rich, it’s dense and phenolic due to the approximately 15% still red wine sourced from grapes planted in the villages of Hautvilliers, Aÿ and Bouzy, culminating in a protracted, sapid and chalky finish. Then followed a summer marked by long, sunny periods interspersed with regular cloudy and rainy spells. Starting with a sumptuous trio of roasted fig, apricot and candied orange, the Dom Pérignon Rosé 2006 Champagne opens up to deliver intoxicating notes of rich cocoa and dark spices, resulting in a sensual and seductive champagne.

The 2002 Brut Rose explodes from the glass with endless layers of huge, voluptuous fruit, A big, full-bodied wine, the 2002 is probably the most overly vinous, intense Rose ever made by long-time Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. v=1650103018","options":["Size"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":6698785439795,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":1. Initial flavours of white fruits and raisins develop into notes of brioche and vanilla with bottle ageing. Taut on the palate, a touch of sweet cherries, mineral texture, fine tannins, pleasant balance, dark minerality on the finish, nuances of orange on the aftertaste, a multi-faceted food wine.
