About this deal

Even though the keyboard only comes in a Graphite colorway, it does have some splash of style with the matte-textured, two-toned keycaps. There are six levels of brightness, and Logitech is using two sensors and a magnetic field to detect when your hands are near. The optional Logitech Flow is similar to long time OSS options like Synergy but takes it to the next level with file-sharing. The Apple Magic Keyboard 2017 and the Logitech MX Keys are both good, low-profile, wireless office keyboards.

This keyboard also has a new backlighting feature that adjusts the brightness depending on the lighting in your surroundings. It also has individually-backlit keys that, by default, will adjust brightness depending on the lighting conditions around you. It says the tactile quiet switches come the closest to the traditional, laptop-like typing feel of its MX Keys keyboards. The Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED is better overall than the Logitech MX Keys, but their differences come down to their uses. Using the Logi Options+ software (more about it in a minute) or a Fn-key combination, you can choose static or dynamic illumination with several effects, such as a breathing or wave animation.

Unfortunately, the latency is quite high and very inconsistent, so it's not well-suited for reaction-based games. Whenever a Logitech MX Master 3 or MX Keys is connected to a PC or Mac you’ll be able to play with its companion Logitech Options software to customize the experience. It doesn't steal our Editors' Choice honors from the Razer Pro Type Ultra, because we think the white Razer is a tad better-looking, and we like that it comes with a wrist rest. The Logitech has better wireless versatility, as it can be paired using an USB receiver or through Bluetooth, and it can be paired to three devices simultaneously.

For something more traditional, there is also Logitech’s own MX Anywhere 2S, which takes some of the features from the MX Master 3, but tones it down to a compact package. And that combination, from my two weeks of use, has made for an exceptionally premium typing experience. It has great build quality, and its low profile design means it's comfortable to use without a wrist rest. However, the Apple keyboard is meant for Mac computers and it has a Touch ID button, which the Logitech doesn't have.

Sending images as prompts to ChatGPT is still a fairly new feature, but in my own testing, it works fine most of the time. It features backlighting, which is nice and is rechargeable instead of using batteries like the K780. We've also added new objective evaluations to the Typing Noise test, and we've simplified several tests and removed several others that were no longer relevant. While this keyboard is well-suited for productivity and everyday browsing, it's only suitable for light and isn't suitable for fast-paced, reaction-based games. If you want a thin board with a numpad, home cluster keys, and scissor switches, you'll prefer the MX Keys.

Overall, this performance will likely only be an issue if you try to play fast-paced or competitive games, but you may notice the occasional missing key if you're an exceptionally fast typist. You can also use this BOLT receiver to pair select newer Logitech MX Master peripherals, including the Logitech MX Master 3S or Logitech MX Anywhere 3S Mouse. It provides great typing quality with satisfyingly tactile but extremely quiet keystrokes, and the keycaps have a small dish-shaped profile that keeps your fingers centered on keys to help you minimize typos. They each have Bluetooth support with up to three devices at once, but the Logitech also has a proprietary receiver. I've been using Logitech mice for years now, but I have to have a mouse where I can switch back and forth between my left and right hand.

Most people shouldn't need a wrist rest due to the keyboard's low profile, though Logitech does make a companion low-profile palm rest that you can purchase separately. If you have two or three machines in your office that you regularly need to control (especially if you're mixing Windows and Mac) this may be the perfect keyboard+software solution for you. It's also rated for 80 million keypresses to the Logitech's 50 million, though either should outlast a generic office keyboard by many years.
