MGA Entertainment is one of the world’s fastest growing and largest privately held toy and entertainment companies. The jacket and the skirt are both made out of shiny red imitation leather, and each has a black Mowalola "M" on it. MOWALOLA is a path-breaking label by a Nigerian designer Mowalola Ogunlesi that has gained both critical and commercial acclaim due to its cogent presentation of ready-to-wear garments that deconstructs maximalist glam by filtering its subjects through a prism of futurism. With her extravagant packaging, slicked-down hair, and hard-to-use clothing, Felicia feels like a doll that was never meant to be removed from her box.
The dolls are packaged in premium display cases and come with two exquisite costumes, each with embellishments, as well as a pair of shoes, a handbag, accessories, and a certificate of authenticity. The limited-edition dolls perfectly capture the youthful, experimental, and fashion-forward spirit of both brands. That's why I'm so excited to work with MGA and the Bratz team in designing and offering these dolls. If you are having trouble getting the factory product out of your dolls’ hair that makes it feel “crunchy”, I recommend washing it once (maybe twice depending on how much product is used) with dish soap then following up with a conditioner rinse; a boil wash is not necessary for nylon hair and can sometimes damage it, but a flat iron and other heated hairstyling tools may work better for styling their hair after it has been washed and dried.I've owned Bratz dolls with better leg articulation than Felicia's, though, and wish MGA had opted for rotating hinge knee joints.
But the thing is, it was only after getting her out of the box and actually playing with her for a while that I was able to realize the magnitude of her greatness. This is a rare occurrence where you review a doll that I own too, haven't finish boilwashing mine, did it a few a times and yet the gel on the bangs is still not fully removed, lol. I won't pretend that I knew anything about Mowalola before I saw the pair of Bratz dolls that she designed, but I've learned a little bit from the internet. Mowalola Ogunlesi is a young fashion designer whose inspiration comes from Nigeria (where she was born) and London (where she lives now).
