I've used a few drops of translucent hot glue to make sure that the wires won't come off, i don't trust such a tiny blob of solder from a mechanical point of view. Tend to agree re the Actone being for use without amps - I've taken it out of my chain which already feeds either a VoxAC15VR or an Amplug AC30 which obviously both give amp simulation. The AC tone pedal from JOYO really captures something usually missing from most modern guitar sounds: subtle to aggressive warmth and a natural sounding overdrive. It consists of Tone, Volume, and Drive knobs that let you adjust the output volume, dial in the gain, and get the perfect tonal balance.They say if you want to use them into PA's and recording software interfaces etc you would be best using a cabinet simulator pedal to get best results. This pedal puts you in Vox territory if you are looking for a direct-to-PA solution for something like recording or an amp-less setup(like my worship scenario). However I have used it a fair number of times on gigs and the sound has been great and the noise level non-existent. But it sounded good enough to use direct into the PA at rehearsal so I started leaving the amp in the vehicle.

But bear in mind that old cards were made with non-RoHS, lead-based solder which is a bit easier to work with (lower melting temperature). Of the five (including the FlyRig), the American Sound is absolutely the best, by leaps and bounds, through the front of an amp. I use a Tech21 Blond v2 (with the speaker defeat switch) for that application - direct into mixer - and that is my recommendation.
