Description

Jane Austen (1775-1817) was an English author known primarily for her six major novels set among the British landed gentry at the end of the 18th century. I have read horror reviews of other Penguin Clothbound Classic box sets still have stickers on the books themselves, which ruins the print, so I was super happy that this was not the case for this box set!

Each box set contains six books, together creating a comprehensive collection of Austen’s best and much-loved works. She finds him arrogant, conceited, and indifferent, disliking him even more when she discovers he has interfered in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and Elizabeths older sister Jane. Here you can see some of the treasures of the collection, ranging from books and letters to pieces of furniture, clothing and paintings. Austen's work has had a lasting impact on literature and continues to be studied and enjoyed by readers around the world. After his death in 1805, she moved around with her mother; in 1809, they settled in Chawton, near Alton, Hampshire. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF. The books are a bit in the small side and the paper reminds me of paperback editions but I got it due to how it looked so I’m not too bothered by that. Beautiful, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is perfectly content with her single life and sees no need for either love or marriage. For Elinor Dashwood, sensible and sensitive, and her romantic, impetuous younger sister Marianne, the prospect of marrying the men they love appears remote.

Most of all, these love stories address issues of gender politics and class ranking that were rarely expressed in Jane Austen s time and were the beginning of a mindset revolution in her day. Moorcroft designers, Emma Bossons FRSA, Nicola Slaney and Paul Hilditch bring Jane Austen, her novels, and the Regency Period alive in a collection launched in August 2023 at Jane Austen’s village of Chawton in Hampshire. Sweet Cherry Publishing has released a series of classic novels that have been rewritten to make them easier to understand. Seamus Heaney’s deeply felt interpretation, widely acknowledged as the greatest Beowulf translation of modern times, is presented in parallel with the Old English verse in this fabulous Folio edition.Few novelists have conveyed the subtleties and nuances of their own social milieu with the wit and insight of Jane Austen. I was a bit sceptical about this due to the reviews but what I expected came and within the time expected. New friendships and flirting lead her to the imposing Northanger Abbey, where Catherine discovers that a little imagination can be a dangerous thing. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, one of literature’s most beloved stories of love, marriage, and social mores, is now available in a fine exclusive collector’s edition featuring a laser-cut jacket on a textured book with foil stamping and ribbon marker, making it ideal for fiction lovers and book collectors alike.

First impressions can be misleading though, and the Bennet sisters soon realise that the pursuit of true love is rarely simple. In this classic comedy of misdirected manners, Jane Austen shows readers how first impressions cant always be trusted. The clothbound covers are nice to look at and touch, the pages are heavy and high quality and these editions are all with some commentary and analysis.Considered defining works of the Regency Era and counted among the best-loved classics of English literature, Austen’s books include Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion.
