Ian is a great story teller with a wealth of titbits, on and off the pitch, to share with the reader. He went on to play for non-league Burton Albion, as well as North American Soccer League side Chicago Sting. Ian has received a tremendous reception from football fans, young and old, during his busy schedule of book signings following the launch of his much-anticipated biography. With Moore still a hugely popular figure among fans, his story is essential reading for Forest and United supporters, plus anyone with an interest in football history. The starkest contrast of all though is just what an unforgiving arena football was back then for talented players like Moore.new residents apparently, over 700 new cars, and no new roads, no new school expansion, no expansion to the Doctors or Dentists, or anything else. He later served as player-manager for Shepshed Charterhouse, and for Burton Albion in his third spell at the club, before becoming chief scout at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

We cover not only his many years with Forest and his curtailed spell with Manchester United but also his childhood years, his post-injury career in non-League and US football and the various jobs he had after he stopped playing. He was regularly subjected to brutal challenges by opposition teams that'd often go barely punished by the lenient referees of the day, and then go off the pitch to find that treatment for injuries was primitive at best. In terms of watching Forest I’m probably a couple of years behind the likes of Cloughie75, so will look forward to contributing to some of the more nostalgic threads in particular.

Ian played 157 times for Albion from 1975 to 1981 scoring 52 times and was player-manager for the last three of those years taking over from Phil Waller before handing over to Neil Warnock. That was certainly his finest season with the Reds, but he was also the club's top scorer for 5 of the 6 seasons when he was a first team regular, scoring over 100 league goals - impressive stars for a player who was more a winger than an out and out striker, and also playing in a team that was more often than not struggling towards the bottom end of the table.

Hi all, I’ve enjoyed LTLF as a reader for many years and now I have a bit more free time I intend to chip in a bit myself too. Alongside the date of the transfer, the clubs involved and the transfer fee, it also displays the market value of the player at the time of the transfer. He went on to work as chief scout at Aston Villa, leaving the role when Martin O'Neill resigned as manager. Here, for the first time, the authors tell the full story of Moore’s life and career, drawing on their extensive interviews with him, his personal scrapbooks and their own first-hand memories. He has written for Forest's match-day programme every season since 2012/13, and is now contributing 'Memorable Match' articles for all their home games. Oh, and a lovely foreword from Martin O’Neill (carefully written by hand, like his own autobiography, and dictated to us!

He says: “It’s still such a friendly club and I’m delighted to see that the form has picked up recently and let’s hope it continues. Obviously the Forest fans rightly count ISM as one of their greatest ever players but he is also fondly remembered at Manchester United where he made a big impression. Moore's sensational on-off transfer to Derby County for a British record fee was front-page news and left Brian Clough unable to speak to him for two decades. The book charts Ian’s school life, his rise to be a star striker at Nottingham Forest and the bad luck with injuries that eventually deprived him off the long career and England honours his talent deserved.

Unfortunately, I had the bad injury there and I’m sure if I had been playing today, they would have rectified it, but they didn’t have the facilities in those days.
