Admittedly because my favourite actor is in it (who also happens to play all of my favourite book boyfriends in my head) but so what? I am aware of the speculations surrounding the book, I don't think Taylor Swift is Elly Conway (as Elly is fictional and not a real person). When Aidan, an undercover spy, shows up to save her from being kidnapped or killed, Elly and her beloved cat Alfie are plunged into a covert world where nothing and no one are what they seem, including to the discovery that Agent Argylle, in fact, exists for real.Henry Cavill appeared to know the identity but refused to reveal anything per Vaughn's wishes, while Bryan Cranston played coy about what he knew, claiming he couldn't rule out the rumor that Taylor Swift wrote it. As for Argylle the story, any author who can weave together a plot involving Nazis, the Amber Room, the Golden Triangle, Fontainebleau palace, Paris, Mt. This book starts slow, but ends with a bang, to be honest I didn't feel that intense pull to be listening to the story, but I'm going to say that was due to the narration (more on that in a bit) than the actual book.
