About this deal

A very important message which is current and will be relevant for the duration of this technology-driven age. It was good but I will have to say that I liked the movie better which I never say, but it would be interesting to see a performance of this. A great play nonetheless which is difficult to actually enjoy because of the nature of it, but Enda highlights the dangers of conformity and what can happen if a joke is taken too far. Disclaimer/Trigger warning: This production contains adult themes and language from the very start, as well as references to suicide, depression and family trauma.

They devise ways in which Emily could be more violent and make it look like somebody is harassing her family, which makes her parents try to protect her more. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The very last line pisses me off, but that aside this is a well written, through my provoking piece that shows off teen-angst but not in a way that makes it appear any less real.A powerful depiction of modern-day isolation and the dangerous power of technology, Enda Walsh's play Chatroom formed part of the National Theatre's 2005 Connections season, an annual festival of new plays for youth theatres and schools.

All of the characters have their own insecurities, their own ‘issues’ and they use an internet chat room to blow off some steam and express their thoughts of the world. This serves as a chilling reminder of how people have the power to manipulate and influence those around them. Mo believes himself to be a pedophile because he is attracted to his friend Si's prepubescent sister, Keisha. Conversations range in subject from Britney Spears to Willy Wonka to - suicide: Jim is depressed and talks of ending his life and Eva and William decide to do their utmost to persuade him to carry out his threat. A very thought provoking play, although I think I am going to have to either read the ending again or watch a staged version of it to fully understand. But when a new member, Jim, joins to share his depression and thoughts of suicide, the conversation takes a dark turn. Principal photography took place in early 2010 at Shepperton Studios in Shepperton, Surrey, [5] with some outdoor scenes shot in Camden and Primrose Hill. The film follows five teenagers who meet on an online chatroom and encourage each other's bad behaviour. A group of keyboard warriors- nameless, faceless and masked by a computer screen find comfort in antagonist William.
