Description
From BBC studios to high-end home systems, KEF are considered one of the world’s leading speaker companies.
Oddly enough, the Mu7 manages to combine similar traits when it comes to the way they deal with external sounds. Someone (or some group of people) has decided on the ‘voice’ a pair of headphones (for instance) is going to have, and then fingers are crossed as to whether or not it finds favour. The outright scale of sound they’re able to produce is impressive too – but detail levels are always high, even in the midst of a hectic or multi-faceted recording.Available in two finishes (Silver Grey and Charcoal Grey), the KEF mu7 headphones have beautiful, flowing lines that are particularly appealing. Unlike the Mu7, though, the Px7 S2 are more than happy to give it their best shot no matter the sort of music you like to listen to - and while they’re hardly Bose when it comes to active noise-cancellation, they are at least consistent in their sound whether ANC is on or off. Ross Lovegrove is renowned for his innovative approach and flowing, sculptural forms; designs that embrace both beauty and technological ingenuity, which perfectly complement KEF’s obsession with pure, accurate sound.
Just as with their reference speakers, KEF have tuned the Mu7 headphones to deliver a pure, consistent sound. The Mu7 are overly concerned with not giving offence – which, when the music you’re listening to seeks to be as offensive as possible, is no help whatsoever. Please feel free to share a picture of your set-up on our official Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts. Once Mu7 is connected to device 2, you may reconnect the Mu7 to your device 1 on its Bluetooth setting page. However you choose to get it there, once the audio information is on board your Mu7 it’s delivered to your ears by a pair of 40mm full-range dynamic drivers.Given some appropriate content of appropriately sizable resolution to deal with, there’s plenty to like - admire, even - about the sound the Mu7 make. There’s not a huge amount of extension or, more accurately, presence to the low frequencies the Mu7 generate, though.
However, a couple of the features we’ve come to expect from premium wireless headphones like the KEFs are missing. Focusing on the nuances that imbue sound with heightened levels of significance, KEF preserves the integrity of a recording with little intervention, presenting a revealing listening experience that offers a pure and accurate representation of the original recording. KEF provides a couple of nicely branded cables in the carry-case: one is USB-A to USB-C, the other 3. Switch on and, combined with the closed back design you’ll block out the outside world, letting you more of your music, more of the time – without having to turn the volume up to uncomfortable levels. They're made of aluminium, which should make them feel more premium than the Sony XM5 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless, both of which feel less luxurious than their predecessors.Suitable for use with all types of music media, but especially impressive with Hi-Res music files, the MU7’s deliver music with polished precision. Lovegrove notes that “If you are wearing a particular type of headphones, they are an extension of you.
