Accident At Work
The claimant, an Interior Designer, received £1,100 for the back injuries sustained in an accident at work. The claimant aggravated a pre-existing back injury in the accident and was awarded damages for the two weeks of lost wages that he suffered.
The accident occurred when the claimant was walking from an escalator to his place of work, when he tripped on a piece of loose flooring and fell causing injury to his back. The claimant sustained injury and brought a action against the defendants alleging that they were negligent in failing to restore the damaged flooring.
The defendants admitted liability for negligence by not fixing the defective flooring and but for the floor being defective the claimant would not have suffered injury and loss of earnings.
