How will you feel seeing your product concept in electrical wholesalers and being used by electricians? To make driving easier, the tools are magnetic to maximise the connection with the fastener, for secure holding and hassle-free start-ups. Working at height can be testing at any time and spending excess time fighting to fasten up a roofing bolt is the last thing any professional needs. We are unable to deliver to the Isle of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the rest of Europe.

I regularly use their holesaws, ¼” drive bit sets and HSS drills, so I wanted to set the standard high in terms of quality and looks. I then thought of scribed lines on the outside to give it a reference, and this made things slightly easier. The majority of electrical work has been commercial and industrial installations, but I do quite a lot of domestic work too!

Having launched this Spring, 2021, the simple yet incredibly effective Impact Rated Roofing Bolt Driver is proving to be a hit with professionals in the trade. drive wings create a strong location in the bolt head and provide increased contact with the drive edges. After having a 3D version printed, I realised the user could not locate it easily because the cross was not visible enough. Following its successful launch as part of the Armeg range, we catch up with the inventor of the Roofing Bolt Driver, electrician John Mijalski. After a difficult time trying to get a company using spark erosion to make a few one-offs, I decided to visit a local engineering company and they eventually made me 20 blanks, which I then took to a spark erosion company (Neptune Engineering) Hertford.

Their head allows them to spread the weight further than a standard bolt, making them suitable for fastening to thin materials without causing damage. The most common time for me to use the gutter bolts /roof bolts are in commercial or industrial situations, where cable management trays are being used above suspended ceilings.

The patented product was invented and designed by a professional electrician, John Mijalski, after snapping off a flat head screwdriver during a roofing bolt installation. After snapping yet another flat head screwdriver during a roofing bolt installation back in 2019, John Mijalski decided enough was enough and embarked on a mission to find a solution to driving in roofing bolts. I do this daily on industrial contracts and sometimes on commercial jobs in the initial stages of the installation. The other problems I faced were the time it was taking to tighten the bolts up and the flat head drivers not fitting properly.

With over 17 years experience in the electrical sector, we see the daily problems electrical technicians are faced with. The most common situation for me to use the gutter bolts/roof bolts are in commercial or industrial situations, where cable management trays are being used above suspended ceilings. Combine this with the Twister rated ¼” shank for impact drivers, the tool can make installing roofing bolts a one-handed job, ideal when working at heights.

When working at height, which is often the case with cable management, you need things to be easier! When working at height, which is often the case with cable management, you need things to be much easier.

Having had a difficult time trying to get a company using spark erosion to make a few one-off samples, I decided to visit a local engineering company and they eventually made me 20 blanks. To make it even easier, the driver is magnetised to maximise the connection with the roofing bolt and hold it securely…. If I see them hanging on a shelf, it will feel slightly strange at first (I have to admit) but when I see someone recommending it to a colleague saying “they’re really good”, that will be job done!Using the Roofing Bolt Driver makes the process faster and more efficient, great for awkward installations. We are proud to work with John as the exclusive manufacturing and distribution partner, producing the driver at our Sheffield HQ and using our 50 years of manufacturing knowledge and experience to produce a proud British product. I chose Armeg because I like the products, I use their Holesaws, ¼” drive bit sets, HSS drills and like the quality.
