The worker who was 26 at the time of the accident received £13,000 in compensation for hand injuries that were sustained in an accident at work. He was involved in an overhead crane operation when his right hand was trapped between the counterweights hanging from the crane and a concrete chute. As a result the man suffered injuries and brought an action against his employers for the injuries sustained in the accident at work.


The worker insutrcted a specalist firm of personal injury solicitors to deal withthe claim on his behalf. As a result of the accident the he suffered a fractured finger which required surgical intervention. He had underwent further surgery which was followed by physiotherapy to help with the mobility of the finger. Medical evidence presented to the court stated while there had been a reasonable fixation of the finger, some deformity was noticeable.

He was awarded £13,000 in compensation.
