The white/grey colorway goes perfectly with a grey pair of slacks and they just didn’t seem as out of place visually as we were expecting. For sure, PUMA has made some heavily structured designs and it has definitely dabbled in the lightweight, flexible mesh-y, rubber, unconventional design space as well, but the Articulate is different entirely and that’s a good thing. IGNITE Foam– Revolutionary or not, IGNITE is PUMA’s take on a responsive (and foam-cushioning) midsole material. Perhaps one of the best spikeless golf shoes in the game right now, the Puma Alphacat Nitro golf shoes are one of the grippiest sneakers on the market and deliver excellent comfort as well as a sporty aesthetic.

Between the Articulation Geometry on the outsole, midsole, and upper, to the cushioning of the Ignite foam, every detail of these spiked shoes has been meticulously designed to move with the golfer's feet during the swing.

The Alphacat strikes a poised look in the two other colorways too and the grey and black versions have similar, sharp contrasts. With these being spiked golf shoes, I wouldn’t wear them much further than the golf club bar after a round of golf, but I do really like the way they look with my semi-scruffy chino and untucked polo shirt look I’ve perfected. The Elevate does look very similar to its predecessor and we loved the combination of materials the brand has used to develop what is a fantastic looking golf trainer. I haven’t decided if I like it more than the Titan Tour (I just re-spiked those, too) but it’s absolutely my favorite PUMA shoe since the Titan Tour. The Puma Ignite Articulate golf shoes feature a TPU PWRCAGE at the saddle that wraps around the foot for stability and it also has a wider forefoot for comfort throughout your round.

Having tested a good amount of the Puma range, we've become accustom to the brand's quality, durability and overall comfort in it's spiked, spikeless and women's range too. The Alpha Traction sole design on this shoe is cleverly constructed with rubber grips that work together to provide grip in areas that suit you the most.

Much like with the FootJoy Tour Alpha, the shoe really creates a 'locked-in' feeling once the laces are tightened. For those of you who have bemoaned the modern style of the two BOA shoes I’ve reviewed so far, the relatively conventional design should help you sleep easier tonight. Strong and lightweight TPU saddle engineered to be wide at the base and eye stay the cage is thinner across the midfoot allowing the cage to wrap around any foot shape support and provide stability throughout your swing. The (assume) plastic around the ankles puts pressure under my ankle bone which left me walking down the 18th bare foot during my 3rd round in them.We tested the HydroLite from FootJoy back in 2021 and it is still one of the top models for waterproof protection out there. Standing up revealed that they also delivered bags of comfort, keeping our feet perfectly cushioned too!

Not all the time, mind you, but occasionally it sounds like a well-worn innerspring mattress during playtime. The eight-cleat traction pattern has tornado cleats providing more on-demand traction in high wear areas. They are perfect for driving in the car to the golf course, playing a round, and then driving home again because they are usually light and comfortable, but most won't offer as much traction as a spiked shoe.
