Subject: Company fined £100,000 for worker’s death
A company has been fined £100,000 and found guilty after they failed to ensure the health and safety of an employee after becoming trapped between a partition door and a support frame within their premises.
The fatal work accident happened when the male worker was working on the partitioning door when it collapsed onto him, trapping him by the neck and suffocating him.
The case was investigated by the Health and Safety Executive who found that the company had failed to provide proper instruction, training or supervision
