The only real drawback is the susceptibility to flare, which is very evident in shots taken into the light. Along the way, he's shot extensively with cameras and lenses of almost every imaginable type, brand and format. The PL25 gets beat by a *very* small margin when stopped down, and by a larger margin when wide open when compared to slower lenses (and no, the wide open Voigtlanders f0.

It worked better with the E-M1, but still seems to need a firmware–the GX8 probably needs an update also.

Versatile, fast standard 25mm lens (35mm camera equivalent: 50 mm) with a beautiful bokeh background defocus effect for exceptionally creative imaging. That's a small, fast, cheap, nice looking lens for sure, but I am largely held back by the many reports of slow AF (especially on Olympus bodies which is all I have), and it's maybe a little close to 25mm.

Ultra compact, lightweight (only 125g) general purpose lens offering superb optical performance and a beautiful bokeh. Together with the 50mm focal distance (35mm camera equivalent) which is almost the same viewing angle and sense of perspective of human eyes, this lens is ideal for a portraits or scenery as they see. I would be surprised if people could tell a lens is 50lp/ih shaper in isolation and possibly even with side by side testing. The FF photo will look darker at default settings, but when you lift it two stops in post it will be identical to the m43 photo, including noise levels and DOF. Diffraction limiting starts in at ƒ/11, but you probably won't notice any practical impact on sharpness until ƒ/16; even at ƒ/22, images are still decently sharp.

This lens focusing very well, if you experience some “front focus” issue, you should enable “constant preview” feature on your camera. Take advantage of the arrangement of optical elements and fast autofocus to take more control over your vision – whether that be capturing portraits or stunning scenery.
