Accident at work compensation claim was made when a worker lost his balance from the direction of a five-metre ladder upon which he could reach the cables. The worker fell off the ladder and fell to the floor causing personal injury.
When he fell he quickly suffered pain to his wrist. The employee thought his wrist was dislocated because he was in severe pain. He sought advice from his employers first aider and was advised to attend hospital for X-Rays to establish the extent of his injuries.
At hospital the worker was informed that he had badly sprained his wrist and to rest it as much as possible for the pain to clear. His wrist was put in a splinter and was able to go back to work within a week but took 12 weeks until his wrist was fully recovered.
Solicitors reached an out of court settlement for £2500 for the injuries sustained. The worker also received compensation for expenses and loss of earnings.
