O members who have plenty of resources on how to do the modding yourself and where people can hook you up with spare parts as well (or have enough parts themselves). Personally I carry a knifeless mod often, and I live in a state that's very liberal when it comes to blades.

Then I need to add environments and job sites to the original governments who do not trust their subjects / enviro-ites / job site-rs to own a knife. Also, my primary EDC knife is a Spyderco Urban (British Blades forum special edition with Elmax steel), which is UK-legal, stays sharp, has OHO, and a deep-carry pocket clip, so I have no need for a knife on my multitool. I want to be able to carry my mini Topeak Rocket ratchet plus Leatherman bit extension in the side pockets and Leatherman bits in the back pocket. Anyway, whether you can have the tool is still often left up to individual discretion regardless of whether it meets rules and regulations. And if one has a dedicated tool for any the other 17 tools in a Rebar, do you think Leatherman would market a "can opener less Rebar"?

All locking features means that every tool and knife on the body of the handle, with the exception of the plier head, will lock into place.Like the Supertool 300, but a little smaller, the Rebar Knifeless has removable wire cutting blades that can be sharpened on the tools own file or even replaced. Agreed this is an option, but what I mean is I wish they would design a NEW tool that emphasizes the scissors instead of a blade instead of just switching in the small scissors. JB Tools provides this disclaimer to ensure there is no likelihood of confusion unduly influencing your decision to purchase this product, or any other, product from JB Tools, and to ensure there is no confusion as to the existence of any affiliation between JB Tools and the manufacturer of this product. I had a Gerber MP600 knifeless that I left somewhere in my previous abode, but I love this UK 'street-legal' Rebar and it has a much more precisely engineered finish and refined action than the Gerber and because of the deliberate omission of a blade I can take it anywhere with me.

So depending on what style you prefer this is a viable option if you rather have a folder and a multi tool with little overlap. As this is the knifeless edition it obviously doesn’t come with a knife making it, as I said before, UK legal. You'll notice first that their short text mentions nothing about slipping by knife-laws but rather aims at companies with knife-policies. Built for tough jobs and the hands that do them, the EDC Rebar features scissors instead of a traditional knife blade. There's very little that points to there being any government involved here since Leatherman is US based and the US government (where I believe most states would allow you to carry a Rebar with the blade) seems unlikely to force them to make such a model.

I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter whether a multitool is knifeless or not because someone will still want to take it away from you anyways. On either side it has a little squeezy latch to release the lock on all the tools (the lock keeps the tools open). The REBAR is far more robust and, being knifeless, allows me to carry it almost anywhere and with a UK legal knife of my choosing. I just wish Leatherman offered more of their models without knife blades (but replaced them with more useful tools instead e. With the Rebar, Leatherman fans will immediately recognize the iconic box-like shape found in Tim Leatherman's original PST design.

The last one sounds a little bad but I don’t actually use it for loads of drinking, it actually has a little blade on the inside which makes it very good at opening boxes which I do a lot of at my job. Checked the LM site and they list the crimper for the regular Rebar but not for the knifeless, yet the pic of knifeless shows the crimper on the head and the pic of the regular one doesn't. The Knifeless REBAR is perfect for environments and job sites that need a handy set of tools, yet don’t allow for knife blades. g. I think the SOG multi-tools have user change-able blades, so could maybe swap out all knife blades (and saw, if it's a lockable one) for non-sharps e.Probably not needed, but I feel better about it and it keeps them perfectly flush with the top of the handle for easier opening. I am a TV and Broadcast engineer on my day to day work and I usually find myself in need of a variety of tools at hand that are small in size - and can't always carry a toolbox with me. The Leatherman EDC Rebar is a knifeless tool, perfect for environments and job sites that need a handy set of tools, yet don’t allow for knife blades. The tool feels really robust, it feels like a proper tool to do a job, not some lightweight cheap type tool. One is not better than the other, but having the two mandatory systems only drives up costs without adding value.
